Another wrinkle to the Grammarly "expert review": The recommendations it makes have hallucinations. I put in the abstract for some of my work on Black podcasting. One of the names listed was Tiffany E. Barber, which summarized her work on the podcast Chitlin' Circuit and then linked to *my* article.

Grammarly declined my request to interview CEO Shishir Mehrotra today. But it told me that in response to criticisms, it will allow experts to opt out of the feature by emailing expertoptout@superhuman.com.

I've decided that instead of wasting my own time to see if Grammarly has stolen my name and writing for use their business, I'd just email them to opt out and make them waste some time cleaning up their own goddamn mess.

You bet! It was my kick off! When my NW OH spouse told me "This used to be a swamp," I thought he meant it like "Kansas used to be an ocean," not recent (ish) history!

I am obsessed with Ohio's Great Black Swamp and have texted with my MIL (NW OH native who grew up in the former swamp) about my desire to time travel to it.

A student just came into my office and said he was confused by the assignment because he didn't know what an obituary was. The decline of local newspapers has left many gaps, but this is one I hadn't expected.

A year ago today/tomorrow/yesterday (it's muddled between time zones) our move to Okinawa was canceled 6 hours before we left for the airport-after our household goods were packed/stored/shipped. We got a waiver & moved 2 weeks later but today my heart is with those in the same situation who didn't.

It's nice to have fun ("fun") news for a change.
