tbh these days it’s more difficult to find a 立體角色 who aren’t just a vehicle for their 人設 or have more to them outside of the relationship, whether it’s gong/shou/hugong, let alone getting readers to like them despite the fact that there are a lot of 腐唯s (blame wb for introducing me to this term)

imo gongs aren't attractive unless they're truly vulnerable and human and silly in some way, but they also need to balance that with maturity. I feel like a common trend is to pick either one or the other (mostly serious or mostly childish) which is why idc about most gongs

conversely i like when gongs are traumatized and broken older men, strong and capable but fragile inside. i really like it when the dominant one in the relationship gets doted on and showered with love haha TvT especially if they’re older

i feel like that tells more about you than who is your fav gong/shou

i like shous who are strong, independent, love boldly, deeply, without fear or hesitation, dote on their gongs, especially if they’re younger
