None of this was directed at you...it was at the journalist/paper for not writing a piece that contains some pretty obvious things you should include. It's saying that it's massive problem for politicians to sort generally implying there is no public transport or something which is confusing

I don't know....I asked coz I don't commute that route...is there something I'm missing as to why you would sit in traffic for 3hours rather than do what looks like an hour commute park and ride on the train?

06.03.2026 14:00 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 2 📌 0

Yeh. But like - why would you drive for 3hours instead of a 15min drive/25min train/15min cycle (or I assume there's a bus)

Would you not be better getting the train from Kildare into Dublin? Only a 15min drive to Kildare station

Aviation taxes Europe’s leading advocates for clean transport & energy

"Removing the exemption and applying a standard 20% VAT rate to all tickets departing from the EU would have raised more than €30 billion, leaving a VAT gap of around €29 billion in a single year."

Oh boy, why do we not have money for defence?

Beef and lamb get 580 times more in EU subsidies than legumes, study finds Report says common agricultural policy provides ‘unfair’ levels of support to unhealthy, meat-heavy diets

"It found beef and lamb were subsidised 580 times more than legumes in 2020, while pork was subsidised nearly 240 times more."

Worthy of note, as our politicians invoke more austerity and ultimately seek to abolish free education, healthcare, and pensions.

The judges in WV have seen enough.

They say that if the ICE continues detaining people in ways they have unanimously deemed illegal they will start issuing civil fines and contempt findings — including against state officials who help them carry it out.

Not sure who needs to hear this but the voter fraud rate is a mere 0.000003%. Anyone telling you otherwise is making shit up so they can take away your right to vote.

Figure 17 shows a range of estimates of the impact of Brexit on GDP per
person, using similar methods to the aforementioned study to compare the UK to other countries. The estimates vary based on the economic variables (such as educational
attainment and openness to trade) used to match the UK to the countries which make
up its counterfactual path. The range reflects the challenges in accurately identifying
a counterfactual – we cannot observe how the UK would have grown had it remained
within the EU – but it suggests the impact on GDP per person may well sit above 4 per
cent already.

Failing to pursue closer integration with the EU creates tension with the Government’s growth ambitions.

The Brexit impact on GDP per person may be bigger than feared; the impact on GDP per person may well sit above 4 per cent already.

The Finger-Taker's Son Rules of engagement, and what it means to find "common ground" with supremacists.

THE FINGER-TAKER’S SON

Whenever the king became displeased with one of his subjects, he would send out his soldiers, and before long the offender would find themselves in the basement of the king’s finger-taker.

The finger-taker claimed to be a persuadable man.

I'm not an expert in commodity codes but I believe that's correct :) I had to learn about them a bit for Brexit at work and they're annoyingly confusing and detailed at times...then vague and confusing at others!

UK Taxpayers Fund £1.2 Billion of Animal Exploitation Herbiⓥore published a post on Ko-fi

You’re paying £1.2 billion annually for factory farming, whether you consent or not. Subsidies, pollution, illness, lost jobs. All to maintain animal use as normal. This isn’t a food system. It’s a property system.

It's not per item. It's per commodity code. So 100 cotton t-shirts is €3 - even if they're all different brands and different colours. 1 cotton t-shirt and 1 polyester t-shirt is €6 even if they're the same brand and same colour.

Yeh it's really inefficient logistically for you to import 1 single book from Japan rather than someone to import loads and sell them locally though. And the later is better for the EU too. And the main aim is to stop cheap near slave trade created clothes and tat from being imported. It's great.
