This was a great evening. Faith shared some really interesting thoughts on power, intersectionality, and feminist theology

Coffee cup
A good morning, having breakfast with a Swedish priest who has an environmental role back home
Love connecting with people across the world who are seeking to follow the missional call of creation care & climate justice
Great to be able to encourage one another, pray together and share resources
The magnificat window in the tower of the cathedral, with all the colours visible due to the light evening. Surrounded by blue and yellow light of the show
Had a chance to experience the light show @mancathedral.bsky.social again last night. Had wondered how the lighter evenings may affect the show
Turns out it simply means that the stained glass also gets an opportunity to shine as part of the show!
Please watch this short film by Together, an organisation working for the full inclusion and celebration of LGBTQIA people, disabled people, GMH people, and so on, in the Church of England. I burst into tears halfway through โฆ

Screen shot of a report a problem page on council website
I am now the kind of person who reports potholes on the council website
But, seriously, a really lethal area of potholes at a junction just before a newly renovated cycle lane, will lead to injury. It's the bit of my cycle commute I dread the most
The laudato si centre grounds. Polytunnel in background to left, greenhouse in background middle
Today I've been doing some recording at the Laudato Si Centre, Salford
The best bit was listening to some children talk about how being in creation helps wellbeing and how we all needed to work together
It's not surprising children have such wisdom. It's just a shame we don't listen to them more
It is wrong to stop people fleeing war and persecution from having the ability to come to the UK legally and claim asylum. The Home Office's proposals punish vulnerable populations and are using these communities as scapegoats.
I have written to the Home Secretary to outline my deep concerns.
Some good news here
Lots more needs to be done, but at least emissions went in the right direction last year
The Door by Paul Bayes
I took my time with this book because, like the author, it deserves close and thoughtful attention
It is a beautiful, heartfelt book that has much to teach about ministry, being brave, speaking plainly and recognising the journey of understanding, and misunderstanding, that we are all on

A great novel....hope there's another ...
West end of Manchester cathedral with blue skies
Lunching outside today ๐๐
These events are happening very soon!
The new Hollywood film 'The Testament of Ann Lee', shows she began her life in Manchester. Come along Saturday afternoon to see her baptism and marriage records in our archives
If you are interested in Feminist Theology, Monday's conversation is for you!

Amen to that!
Six yrs ago I re-learned to ride a bike
It's days like this that make me so grateful to all who encouraged me and helped my confidence in those early days
With little sleep and a mind whirring on many things, the cycle commute today, in the Spring sunshine, did much to boost my wellbeing

Screen with title Sustaining the world.
Outside Luther king centre, blue sky, green grass, tree to right of frame. Building in background
Back at the lovely place that is @lutherkingtheology.bsky.social to teach my module 'Sustaining the World'
While the subject is ecotheology, what a title in the midst of *waves arms* all of this
Will be interested to hear your thoughts!
Film poster for the Testament of Ann Lee
Watched the Testament of Ann Lee yesterday. She has a strong connection with @mancathedral.bsky.social - baptised & married here
Love her characterisation- a formidable woman of faith
Research was lacking on Manchester and the cathedral - or the collegiate church as it was then- which is a shame
Just love doing these walks. We always have new people join us and we always discover new things in our locality!
God by Andrew Rudd God doesn't have to knock uses the front door key doesn't check how clean the house is knows how to use the kettle and where the spoons go washes up is content to sit and chat about issues of no importance or just be quiet.
I always remember this poem on this date
My sister in law, who died nine years ago today, introduced me to it. It evokes such a gentle, relatable image of God
Love this exhibition and the stories behind it! Do come on Saturday 7th March at 2pm if you can, to hear more stories and see some of the incredible archive materials that we have
Oh yuk. Migraines are the absolute worst.
As reported here, the top nationalities of people arriving by small boats are:
Eritrea, Afghanistan, Iran, Sudan & Somalia
All places with civil unrest, conflict, human rights abuses & severe poverty
These people need safe routes & compassion

The benefit of train journeys is the opportunity to catch up with podcasts
Fascinating lecture, referencing Thomas Clarkson, whose sermon in @mancathedral.bsky.social propelled Manchester's anti slavery movement (I quote him in my RJS sermon in the AMEN announcement)

On today's Pray as You Go, the first ever PAYG, done 20 years ago on Ash Wednesday 2006, is replayed. It's utterly beautiful and worth 12minutes of your time

Ash Wednesday She held the dust and created me She breathed in life And set me free From the depths of earth she wove my frame One of so many Yet she knew my name I failed, I strayed, I went off track She carried, she guided She brought me back One day, into dust I shall once again be Held in her hands For eternity Grace Thomas

Civil rights leader Jesse Jackson has passed away at the age of 84. My thoughts are with his family.
I wanted to share this clip from his appearance on Sesame Street in 1971. His important words ring just as true today as they did back then.
'We must not measure greatness from the mansion down, but the manger up
Jesus said that we should not be judged by the bark we wear, but by the fruit we bear
Jesus said that we must measure greatness by how we treat the least of these'
God bless you, Jesse Jackson
