My wife has a good take on this. 1, 2, and 3 were for us. That's the end of the franchise.
4 started a new franchise for a new generation. 5 is the continuation of that iteration.
Not everything is for everyone. It's ok for other people or have a chance to love characters in a new way.
Every part of this episode was so fun! And moving. And I pointed to the screen each time someone was mentioned.
