The meta is good but stale, and the reason its diverse is because every good hero since MST has been LL'd or nerfed, so all the heroes either feel like shit to play(low floor, high ceiling) or aren't very powerful(not much higher floors, low ceiling).

i was told there's actually one more in the US that just isn't on the FABTCG schedule, but I doubt there's much more considering the "season" starts and ends in three weeks
they talk about these being "For your local community" in their article
but they ended up being "for these six stores' communities"
like past programs aimed at "your lgs", they made this way too exclusive for most
wave 2 should have 10x the amount at the minimum
these are PQ+'s, they shouldn't need stores that ran Callings to run these smoothly
the whole marketing is about the local community, why are all of these something you have to fly for
these are supposed to be the next step up from PQs
I know of one store that was *offered* a Battlegrounds that has never ran a Calling. Declined because of seating requirements.
I also know of a store that previously hosted a battle hardened with over 100+ players and has seating for 300 was declined.

but tbf, people expected Dash to leave by that point and she didn't
and one of the longer standing LL'd heroes at the time got a new form the set prior, and most of the other LL'd heroes also left relatively recently
people gotta realize that heroes returning isn't a first in-first out thing
your favorite hero comes back when its ready, and that'll mean the easier to cook heroes will get done first, even if they got ordered after you

Rosetta was name dropped at US Nationals 2024, only a couple of weeks or so after Part the Mistveil's release.
It's been roughly the same cadence since then, if I recall correctly.

Four months is a long time for people playing live service games, but for table top players who don't just play FAB? It's not very long at all.
You'd be surprised at how often people not realize that something happened until years later. People get surprised by yearly MTG Standard rotations!
On a bit more serious note, I can't say I particularly care for this philosophy. While the intention to keep the format fresh is fine, I'm not sure if making changes often inspires much confidence, especially towards newer players from other games.

yeah definitely, but I think the ones who can easily make gold also are in a similar position to the Kassai's with very little way to go over the top
I don't really see any reason why it can't just be Cash In, outside of issues with future designs. The heroes who can make the coins aren't exactly what anyone considers good in SAGE atm.
Another Kassai player asked me how I approach the verdance matchup, and I had to figure out how to not plagiarize Shoma's article while talking to them.
I hugely appreciate Shoma making his guide free now. I can just use it as an actual reference without feeling bad.
One of the things that drives me up the wall about metafy guides, is that they make me feel like I'd be doing something wrong by telling someone what I learned.
Like I'm taking $20 out of their wallet if I shared too much about how I won a game.
Listen. I understand doing a metafy guide when you are someone who top 8s a big event or have like 1k games on a hero and want to charge for it. But this plague of $15-$20 deck techs being posted by everyone every comp season is disgusting. #fabtcg
