FYI, there are already laws in place for home educating families, including regular reviews with the LA. Most home educated children are already registered with their local authority. Please bear in mind that most home educating families are actually doing the best thing for their child
The majority of parents who choose home education do so because they want the best for their child. Many have reached that point because school has failed the child & they have trauma to the point of self harm. FYI there are laws in place for EHE, including regular reviews with the LA

And just like that, Donald Trump gets away with his insurrection. Something that would have never happened in any other democratic country on earth. Astonishing.
Yes yes and yes!
We are beholden to an outdated and archaic system that prevents real change.

If you bring central London to a halt in order to campaign against catastrophic climate change then you're a "barmy" eco "fanatic" who deserves to be locked up.
If you do the same to hang on to your multimillion pound inheritance tax exemption then you're a brave freedom fighter defying the odds
I will never understand how a billionaire, the richest man on Earth, spent millions to buy an election for ANOTHER billionaire, and told us that his policies would cause all of us non-billionaires βtemporary hardship...β
...and the public didn't tell BOTH OF THEM to fuck off.
I have just set up this account on Bluesky. I wonβt be deleting my Twitter account because thereβs a bit of history within it. I will also confirm on Twitter & Facebook this is my account.

This is a heartbreaking story. A 16-year old was the only one wearing a mask at school to protect her immunocompromised mother. But she was bullied into unmasking and caught COVID, which infected and killed her mother.

Jonathan Reynolds (Observer) promising to kickstart growth with trade deals like CPTPP (but also work towards a better relationship with the EU)
0.08% expected growth by 2038 from CPTPP 0.08% by 2035 - Australia deal 0.07% by 2035 - Japan deal 0.03% by 2035 - NZ deal Minus 4% - long term loss of growth caused by Brexit
Favouring CPTPP over SM/CU trade with the EU is not so much βkickstarting growthβ as desperately stemming our losses and hoping the Ts&Cs arenβt as disadvantageous as the Australia and NZ deals.
Cos thatβs Brexitwang!

And what a pleasant American you are! I didn't ask you to be my strawman but to clarify. Feel free to try kindness, instead of spite. I hope you have a great rest of your weekend
I don't vote them in to lie. And what an interesting take, not wanting any politicians to be able to lie means I'm trying to get one political party in. Or is it that you mean the party you support would be stopped from lying and you think that's unacceptable?
Photo of a grey rat resting their hands on a pillow and wearing a colourful knitted bobble hat. Text reads: In a world where you can be anything, be kind.
Happy Sunday my lovely freebirds. I got very political in the other place, but I mainly tried to promote kindness. I'll always be a socialist and fight for the most vulnerable in society, but if we all #HaveCourageAndBeKind we can change the world one small act at a time π₯° Have a beautiful day all π

Many of us joined Bluesky this week (or, in my case, revived an account they set up a year ago then did nothing with) and itβs quite a struggle finding all the people we interact with on Muskβs trashy Twitter. So letβs reconnect today with a #FollowBackFriday
