but also enclaves too. you could probably rate romance novels and metal albums as accurately as video games. because they are broadly uninterested in the question of form. but no one could numerically rate a Kandinsky painting its 'success' has no determined standard
it's really stark in my mind that if you're rating things on a numerical scale you're permanently in tension between evaluation according to the standards of the form and evaluation by relation to form. it's only immature forms with rules that can't be challenged that you can rate like that

Berlin has been a revelation I thought trams were awful and now I'm on one every second day cuz it actually gets from the connections I need to the places im going in genuinely reasonable times. i would never take a bus in the east of the city cuz every last mile trip you'd do on trams
apparently there are regular municipal level fights where the ttc planners propose removing a stop and everyone complains cuz that's *their* stop and then the service is basically just a large expensive infrequent bus
THEY'RE TOO CLOSE. as a transit mode a tram is not meant to duplicate bus access to every single road, its advantage is accessibly covering larger distances. so many stops means low speeds, which means worse frequencies and slower journeys. it would be a better system with fewer stops
