A fuzzy wild blackberry leaf and its stem are covered in a wet, slimy, yellow substance - a slime mold. Short, lumpy strands of the yellow slime mold dangle from the edges of the leaf. Each spike is almost entirely smothered by the slowly crawling yellow slime.
It's always fascinating to see slime molds taking over plants as they crawl around for food. It's like seeing an alien life form
