This is my DnD character. I realized after playing her a while that she is my power fantasy of not masking.
Back in DayZ the world and systems were so granular that these sudden deaths pushed you to be more meticulous. Even if it was wildly unfair and you might have died anyway it prompted reflection and rewarded care and precision.
(haven't played Marathon, just a memory earlier in the genre)
