#TeamCompSci appears to have slowed down on here over the past couple of weeks. I know that term has started again but wondered if there was still a want or need for #TeamCompSciChat and what that would look like?

A great day yesterday listening to @hugheshaili.bsky.social talking to colleagues about the future of instructional coaching. Initiated lots of discussion among our teams about how we can implement this in our roles.

It’s great to hear that the feedback from I Belong is so positive and resulting in those green shoots. Up to us to keep them going and provide those aspirational pathways to industry #TeamCompSci

Glad to see the attainment for #TeamCompSci pupils is better than previous years, with girls outperforming boys for top grades by a long way. We need to think about how these grades can be converted to more women taking jobs in the Tech sector.

Interested to see the national picture of results for #TeamCompSci. Hoping there is strong results for all involved!

It is, but as you’ve said is treated so different to the other foundation subjects (humanities) because “all kids know how to to computering”. I hope that the consultation that started a few months back sees the light of day and we get some real change that helps pupils develop the skills needed.

Saw this ad on my instagram. Great that the importance of computing is being pushed, and highlighting potential earnings. I wonder how this could be shared to potential applicants, with a focus on closing gaps and making Computing accessible to all? #TeamCompSci

YESSSS. And should form a huge part of compulsory CPD for staff as they need to know how to deliver these key concepts to pupils. Digital dangers are just as much of a threat as physical ones! #TeamCompSci

The key here is having a strong knowledge base from which to build critical thinking skills, that can then be transferred to other domain areas. IMO it’s a bit like “problem solving” in #TeamCompSci you need the prerequisite knowledge but still need problem solving skills.

End of units, or for a do now towards the end of the course. Useless unless pupils have prior knowledge.
