En 1940, à Londres, Lee Miller réalise la photographie intitulée "Piano Broadwood". Un piano à queue détruit est entassé parmi les décombres, ses touches visibles et sa structure en bois éclatée. L'instrument est enseveli sous des gravats, des poutres et des débris, témoignage des bombardements du Blitz. La composition en noir et blanc montre le piano renversé, sa marque encore lisible sur le cadre. / In 1940, in London, Lee Miller created the photograph titled "Broadwood Piano". A destroyed grand piano is piled among rubble, its keys visible and wooden structure shattered. The instrument is buried under debris, beams and wreckage, testimony to the Blitz bombings. The black and white composition shows the overturned piano, its brand name still readable on the frame.
