This is a bad policy that would help incumbents retain their seats in the upcoming midterms.

Why Democrats want do that when out of power in the White House, the Senate, and the House is another question.

Republicans control everything and every bad thing is their fault. Say it until November 3.

I guess my three main questions for a 2028 Dem presidential candidate would be

-Will you abolish ICE and prosecute everyone involved

-Will you prosecute Musk and the DOGE boys

-Will you expand SCOTUS with the aim of neutralizing all Roberts-era jurisprudence

It was transforming the biggest NFL stage in the world into a sugar cane plantation that did it for me.

Like, the multiple layers of turning an American icon into a plantation and highlighting the history of exploitation of Black and Brown bodies by the NFL and American colonialism simultaneously?

Here's the thing, Greg β€” free speech is still protected by the First Amendment under the Constitution.

If you want folks to stop saying you're the secret police who are kidnapping and killing people, maybe stop acting like the secret police who are kidnapping and killing people.

A message to the media: stop calling it a "healthcare crisis." Call it the "Republican healthcare crisis." Stop calling it an "immigration debate." Call it "Republican terror and violence." Be accurate. #FundHealthcareStopICE

This is a core element of conservative philosophy: If a single "undeserving" person is getting a government benefit, the answer is to take it away from millions.*

*Offer does not apply to tax loopholes or any other benefit enjoyed by the wealthy

So Democrats get:

1. A CR that will prevent the GOP from facing the wrath of Americans for a shutdown over the holidays

2. A coupon for one (1) meaningless ACA vote that will fail

3. An end to the illegal RIF/SNAP moves that are already before the courts

Those all seem like wins for the GOP.

the only time the filibuster has ever been used to protect a particular interest of a set of states is to kill anti-lynching and civil rights legislation. that's it.

Important lesson

Post 2024 polls show Harris campaigning with Cheney decreased enthusiasm by 7%

Post 2025 polls show Mamdani running as unapologetic progressive earned him 9% of MAGA 2024 voters

Corporate Dems: You dont flip votes by compromising your valuesβ€”but by unapologetically embracing them

If I were running the DNC, there would be Democratic Party sponsored food relief banks across the country right now that specifically welcomed anyone regardless of party affiliation.

Along with the food, there could be voter registration and links to runforsomething.net

I am completely awestruck by the ease with which Mike Johnson lies on a daily basis. I'll never understand how such a transparently fraudulent "man of faith" can live with themselves. Life is too short to be that phony.

Most capitalists are just sad insecure men who need to learn what so many trans people learned - power and hierarchy will never validate you for being you, only how you benefit the system - and that no matter how much you win at the system's game, it'll still make you feel like you're not enough.

Well, there it is. Sinclair is digging in for a fight, so please help push back -- find stations in your area, watch their local news to see what ads they run, then write those advertisers to tell them you're boycotting as long as they're on a Sinclair station.

List here: sbgi.net/tv-stations/

Luckily, Sinclair has a helpful database of all their stations, so you can see if they're operating in your area and respond accordingly.

They wonder why young folks are so pissed.

RFK Jr. is absolutely poisonous. He has now caused Dr. Lakshmi Panagiotakopoulos, the person in charge of COVID19 vaccinations at the CDC, to resign.

She did so because RFK Jr. demanded that the experts in charge of vaccine guidance listen to him and not to the scientific evidence.

I've read the McClain autobiography so I knew about the organ playing (I think even played on the Tonight Show at one point), but I didn't think there would be records. That is cool. I have a '68 Tigers team record in my collection but not the organ music.

MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred can talk all he wants about the illogic in keeping dead people banned but he never would've reinstated Pete Rose if Donald Trump hadn't inserted himself into the matter. Manfred and his predecessors have routinely said in the past that they weren't going to do that despite multiple petitions by Rose's representatives and others but he did it yesterday specifically to please Trump and/or in an effort to head off Trump fucking with Major League Baseball.
Pete Rose raped a 15 year-old girl in the 1970s -- she may have actually been 14 at the time -- associated with drug dealers, committed federal financial crimes, and compromised the competitive integrity of the game. He never took a single ounce of responsibility for any of that and he cravenly lied about it all until the day he died. Despite that, yesterday Rob Manfred paved the way for him to receive the highest honor Major League Baseball can bestow, all because a horribly corrupt man with multiple felony convictions of his own bullied him into doing it.
This tells you everything you need to know about Rob Manfred, his ethics, his morals, and his spine. Fuck that guy. Fuck him sideways now and forever.

the american electoral system is basically 500,000 information-resistant people across a handful of states taking a guess and then going "haha! oops!" every two years. this process takes 18 months and costs four trillion dollars every time
