For those of you who need a "Pick Me Up" I present this kitten video: www.youtube.com/shorts/cpclU...
is it my time for #WhatAGameDevLooksLike?!
i normally don't consider myself a "game dev" because i design services, not gameplay. but lately i've been working on [NDA REQUIRED] for [REDACTED], so... maybe?
a 70's Pentax 50mm f/1.4 lens and 80's Minox 35 GT camera sitting on a project tray. the top of the Minox is missing, revealing a circuit board.
close-up of the Pentax's rear glass showing ghostly threads of fungus covering one edge of the element
it's time to reassemble this Minox camera and clean the fungus out of this Pentax lens. i practiced cleaning on a cheaper lens, plus this shouldn't require as much disassembly, so i'm optimistic!

youtu.be/9lsSw6It284?...
a Minox 35mm camera with the top cover and partial winding mechanism removed. it's on a grey tray with various small tools and smaller orange tray with very tiny parts and screws.
well... at least i only broke one thing getting in there to fix it... (sigh)
c'monnn obscure parts guy!
i am thrilled that these Minox cameras work and - thanks to the fine people at Blue Moon Camera - the test rolls & scans look great. now to start developing and scanning at home...
color: Minox LX + Kodak Ektar 100 (i think)
B&W: Minox BL + Ilford Delta 400

If my computer store customers made a movie.
Derweil am Nordpol:
B&W: front quarter shot of a big 70's Cadillac coupe with whitewall tires parked on a residential street
B&W: many lines are overlapping looking through venitian blinds at a wooden fence with vertical boards, another with horizontal boards, and the peak of a house's roof.
close-up of old cookbooks on a wooden shelf, including "Cook at Home in Chinese" and "The Palmer House Cook Book". the left side is lit, and the right side is falling into shadow.
flash-lit night photo of a woman in front of a food truck. she's wearing a big fuzzy hoodie and is half-turned away from the camera with long dark hair obscuring her face.
the inexpensive Kentmere Pan 400 is surprisingly nice and seems flexible in different conditions: smooth tones, even creamy, though not terribly high contrast. i'm going to ask the lab what chemistry they used, as i think this has promise with exposure adjustment and higher-contrast developing.
a tiny Yorkshire terrier looks out the glass door of a bookstore; outside next to the door is a low shelf of books at haphazard angles.
the Pentax KX test roll is back and the camera looks pretty good. they're mostly test shots, but i do like this one of a tiny guy.
many shots feel over-exposed by at least 1/2 stop, so i think the meter calibration will help. the 50mm has some odd focus areas and needs the fungus removed (soon).
close photo of the side of a train with graffiti. below the window is a bright blue-green arrow curving up; inside the arrow is written "Mind of a lunatic! Vera!" in the window, a woman with dark hair and a neutral expression looks forward.
"Vera!" (somewhere between Köln and Stuttgart, 2000)

Nice!
yeah, Tom Noonan was even in Heat
he was so comfortable in his characters, as if there was nothing else they could be doing at that moment
Watching the kittens play. If you turn up the volume you can hear the frogs outside. #cat #kitten

The suspension is killing me! ...I amuse myself. 😆
gutter ice is dangerous, though not something to be feared.
it is thinner than it looks. warmth from above and weakness from within inevitably make it easy to shatter.
