Sounds lovely. Cold turkey is one of the great things about Christmas. I'm not sure I'd be ready for it at Christmas if I'd just worked my way though one for thanksgiving.... but there again.....

Is that a meat and potatoes pie? I grew up eating these, and still one of my favourites on a cold day

Finishes my scarf, a gift for a friend. Silk amd alpaca a platted twill. Lovely and warm. The warp needs the silk to give it enough strength

That’s so lovely - great raspberry colour and faultless patterning x

Broken twill . Love the pattern, but has to be very careful to beat gently. Super soft and warm, but the alpaca 4ply kept breaking in the warp. #weaversknot #handwoven #alpaca UK

These are lovely

That's what I thought. It's good to hear from a more experienced weaver that the route I was planning will not be a waste of time. It will be more of placing the weft down rather than beating it. I'll see how it turns out.

Thanks 😊

I'd be interested. The holes are where I teased out the warp . It beat down much more than I expected, even with a light touch. Its a much softer yarn than I usually work with.

I'm not happy with this, there is to much weft face and not enough visible the black/ blue warp. I'm going to adjust the tie up so there is a reverse surface on the solid block area and use a finer reed to bring the warps closer together. Hopefully that will be more pleasing

A little info on these lovely buildings?

I remember my mum making it at times - she’d also make neck o’mutton. In my head the two dishes go together - not on the table though :). I can t remember what she’d put with the mutton, boiled potatoes to mash into the gravy I think

I'm not sure, but I think window blinds for Ed. They were originally going to be cushion overs, but they are to holely

Back to wool, yeh. Setting up a block twill weave for a couple of scarfs. It feels really thick, and lovely and soft aster the last weave.
I think this is may favourit stage, all those crisp lines and full of promise

I'm happy with the bamboo and linen result, (don't look to close:))it has a nice summer quality. Not planning on going back to them though.

I was there! :) I brought a jumper kit from UK Alpaca, steel pointed sock needles - and started a Christmas list :)
Also loving that you are a fellow weaving sci-fi reader :)

So you stich the edge( here in red) then thread the warp back? Looks gorgeous

The huck weave, (with matching assistant) is taking shape. I can't say I'm a fan of the bamboo. It's a bit to hard, not packing down as I thought it would but a strong light cloth, with holes that might make a good blind.
