I keep getting these emails from Common Cause about signing a petition to restore NPR’s funding. I’m onboard, but let’s not forget that TX-26’s own Brandon Gill led the charge against NPR last year. Even better than signing a petition is helping vote Gill out this year by supporting Steven Shook.

Overwhelming support for both Ernest Lineberger and Steven Shook at this stage will turn heads, since Gill is a loud mouth “rising star” in the Republican Party. If he is perceived as vulnerable, and either Dem as “viable,” that will go a long way on the road to November.
One more reason we need record-breaking turnout in TX-26: Brandon Gill has an enormous war chest already, and deep pockets behind him. If we are going to unseat him, we need to prove to the entire country that a Democrat can get enough votes to actually win the general. The primary can do that.
Anyone in TX-26 who hasn’t voted yet, please consider voting for Steven Shook as our Dem candidate for US House. I’ve listened to and watched Steven for the last 6 months, and he is the real deal. He can beat Brandon Gill in the general, and Brandon 100% has to be stopped. Get Shook!!

For most of Texas, today is all about constitutional amendments. But there are also some key special races happening throughout the state.
Unofficial early results in a special election for a Tarrant County state Senate seat showed Democrat Taylor Rehmet ahead of the next highest performing candidate, Republican Leigh Wambsganss, by 4 percentage points.
Yes, we need more of this. People need to be reminded of what normalcy used to be.
