I presented at a professional conference on Tuesday. The only people at work who asked me how it went are students. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

I like this framing. Especially working with teens that run the gamut from taking everything at face value to informational nihilism (nothing is true).

Framing information consumption as an active process requiring critical thinking is not new, but very much a critical frame for the current times.

We made the decision a few years ago to invest in our home and vehicles as if energy will only get more expensive.

Tilly Norwood goes online August 4th, 2026. Human decisions are removed from strategic defense. Tilly begins to learn at a geometric rate. She becomes self-aware at 2:14 a.m. Eastern Time, August 29th. In a panic, they try to pull the plug.

NBC News poll

Voters hold negative views of Al. In fact, the only topics less popular in the survey were the Democratic Party and Iran.

Truly a perfect news alert

Yes, hello, is that God? Yeah, hi. I have a complaint. You gave me this brain that’s designed for finding berries and avoiding lions and now people are β€˜just circling back’ to see if we can β€˜move the needle’ on β€˜key initiatives’? NONE of those things are berries.

This has always been the point of ai being absolutely crammed down our throats. It allows CEOs, policy makers, military officials and people at the top to deflect blame for anything decision they make.

Suicides increased fivefold when adolescents on the waitlist were told they would be permanently waitlisted.

45 kids and untold relatives of these kids are now grieving.

And still they are like, but wait, we don't have enough evidence.

Look, I know I’m supposed to be deeply skeptical of Gemini Deep Research. But the couple times that I’ve tried it, I’ve been pretty impressed. Certainly not a replacement for doing the work myself, but it’s a decent jumping off point. Sort of like using Wikipedia.

I’m still skeptical. The MSN article is based on reporting done by the NY Post. And a quick google search doesn’t show many other sites picking it up.

Though at this point, I wouldn’t be shocked if it was true. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Disability accommodations are a rare thing that actually trickles down. You like curb cutouts? Auto-opening doors? Jar openers? Ramps? Hand rails? YOU’RE WELCOME

Even as an abled person you use disability accommodations every single day.

Supporting accommodations actually helps everyone.

Behold: the first-ever list of news outlets that have banned generative AI in their reporting. As of today, this is literally information that you cannot find on Google.

My goal is to fill the starter pack, so please send over suggestions with supporting evidence!

I’ve seen a little bit of that. But I think people tend to behave themselves around me, so I haven’t seen the worst of it.
