In 1944 & 1945, Kittel helped hide Dischereit’s mother & sister, who as Jews were persecuted by the Gestapo & threatened with death under National Socialism. They were liberated by American troops in 1945. Dischereit will be talking about her search for the family of the rescuer.

Dischereit is joining us for a reading and discussion (in English) about her current exhibition 'Who was Fritz Kittel? A German Railway Worker Decides, 1933–2022'. This very special event is generously supported by the Schröder Fund 🙏
