"Okay... Okay, so...do not eat it at fast speeds. I understand now."
She nods slowly, rocking gently until she eventually calms down
"Okay... Okay, so...do not eat it at fast speeds. I understand now."
"Ah, AH! How do I make it stop!?"
She had her hands on her head, trying her best to stop shuffling about, to no avail.
She nodded in agreement as she got to her fourth scoop. But after the fifth...
"AH! What the fuck!? My head! What is this!?"
She had both hands placed upon her head. Baby's first brain freeze...
However, her shocked expression soon turned into a content one. The flavour hugged her taste buds like a caring mother and she couldn't stop herself going in for more, blissfully unaware of the risk of brain freeze.
Ruthye looked down at her ice cream like she was deciphering a complicated code. Eventually though, she copied what Kara did, picking up a spoon, scooping some ice cream and putting it in her mouth.
"Mmmm!" Her eyes widened in shock. It was much colder than she expected.
โ
"You taught me a lesson that has made a profound impact on every aspect of my life. That is very fucking impressive in my opinion."
She sat up while she spoke her piece, taking a drink after she was done.
"If I had stayed for longer, I certainly would've mentioned you to them. I've told tales of you on many a planet. Your spirit is what keeps me going, Kara Zor-El."
She looked up at her with a bright smile and admiration in her eyes.
"I did. I cannot say I missed the loud noises of my various siblings, and without my father around, I felt nothing but pain living there, so I found the ship that I fly now and assumed a life on the move."
She circled the rim of a glass that one of the waiters put down, other hand on her cheek.
โ
As for Ruthye, she decided to get strawberry ice cream with a chocolate drizzle. What's more unique than a unique flavour? A combination of normal flavours. Probably.
While they waited, Ruthye thought of some small talk.
"How many people have you told about me here on Earth?"
"I am by no means an ice cream expert, but a great deal of the options here seem atypical of the standard experience."
She said this in reference to anything that wasn't strawberry, vanilla or chocolate.
Ruthye gave them all a warm smile, but she feared in her mind that the sheer height difference between her and Kara would make the staff believe that she is a child that Kara is caring for.
And that turned her smile into a pout once they found their table. Nevertheless, she browsed the menu.
โ
"I would like that. Thank you, Kara."
She stood on the tips of her toes to look over Kara's shoulder and get a view of the ice cream parlour.
"Is that the establishment?"
Ruthye looked around as they started landing with wonder in her eyes.
"This is different from Metropolis, and yet the same... Strange... Are most of Earth's cities like this?"
She nodded, climbing up onto her back and letting Kara hold her hands in place like it was second nature to her.
"Oh? Do you speak of Kara Zor-El? She is akin to an older sister, I'm very fond of her."
[Covering her ears]
"Curious. Now a terrestrial question. Why do humans enjoy eating spicy foods? Does it not cause pain to their insides?"
She stands up from her chair, walking outside of her ship with Kara.
"Then let us venture to your favourite ice cream establishment."
She just smiled at Kara. She knew her too well.
"Will having this ice cream give you an opportune time to actually think of a location or two?"
"It is fine, I will not need it. Our trip is more important than a meager compass. Did you have any locations in mind?"
"I did try finding some, but I have not connected my ship to the Earth's network yet. I was forced to attempt to use blueprints for a New Genesis compass."
She is blissfully unaware of the vast technological gap between New Genesis and Earth.
"I guess... The design is more intricate than some of the most complex space equipment."
She sat down and crossed her legs, putting both hands on her knee. She knew better than to gather up the pieces into one spot when it came to someone like Supergirl.
"Ah, Kara. Good to see you..."
She kicked away the parts of the compass that came to rest near her feet.
As the ramp to her ship opened automatically as she had set it up to do, Kara saw her holding the various pieces of the compass before throwing them against the wall in frustration.
"Who needs a fucking compass anyway?"
She noticed Kara after the ramp made contact with the ground, eyes widened.
โ
She let out a deep sigh before replying.
"I am, and I have not moved it. I am unsure if a compass counts as delicate machinery though. I happened upon it and believed I could repair it myself."
"I'm available now, yes. I am currently sitting inside my-"
Snap! CRASH! The compass fell apart in her hands, the pieces scattering everywhere.
"SHIT!"
"No apologies needed. I thought it was about time you fulfilled your promise and introduced me to your favourite locations on Earth."
"Hello, Kara. Are you in flight? I can hear a considerable amount of gust."
She had put her communicator aside once Kara answered. She needed both hands to continue repairing a compass she found. She's finding it...challenging.

She's done enough exploring on Earth. She ended up staying longer than she originally intended too... Anyway, it's about time Kara showed her around. She fished her communicator out of a drawer and used it to contact her, waiting in anticipation for her to answer.

She isn't too familiar with him yet, but he is certainly one of the friendliest humans she has met. She'll be sure to look him up every time she visits Earth.
