Ribbons of red and purple and blue interlacing around themselves. 12-fold rotational symmetry, I guess. Transparent background.
Ribbons of red and purple and blue interlacing around themselves. 12-fold rotational symmetry, I guess. White background.
Interlace drawing.
This one I experimented with using a rotational symmetry group only, and then cut the group in half to make the interlace go. (I guess. It still looks like 12-fold symmetry to me.)
Two versions, with transparent vs white background.

Watercolor painting on canvas: A pond surrounded by meadows and trees superimposed with a geometrical construction of the Higgs potential thats looks like the top part of a fruit juicer. By elkement 2026.
Augmented reality, old school:
The Higgs field is everywhere ... so I am overlaying a geometric construction of its potential with a watercolor painting of a pond!
First experiment with watercolors on canvas (primed with DIY watercolor ground)

A digital image of a blue-and-cyan banded doughnut overlaid on a photograph of a spring sky bordered by oak trees breaking out in catkins The book's dedication reads, "For everyone possessed of curiosity, honesty, and kindness." The image extends the dedication visually. Math, particularly real analysis, seems larger than us, yet is insubstantial, a creation of minds. Like all human creations made with good intent, math can be weaponized. Publishing a textbook that aims to present a body of traditionally-difficult material is therefore potentially perilous. But there is no way to publish or teach without risk; one can only be explicit about the perils, and enjoin learners to steer clear.
"Vortex" is a remake of the cover image of "An Invitation to Real Analysis" as a postcard. The looming sky torus is the image of a ray of slope Ο on a square torus, with color along the ray graded to highlight Ο~=22/7.

I was getting bored of making regular convex deltahedron as paper models for chemists. Delighted with this non-convex distraction. A highly symmetry (icosahedral) 120- faced MΓΆbius deltahedron. I'm sure mathematics is art.

Enjoying my current reading. This book is a collaboration between an artistic engineer and an interactive artist. Best e-book price by far was directly from Springer. link.springer.com/book/10.1007...
So I've been building a 100% analog polyphonic synthesizer with an unique twist. To use only vacuum tube era technology from the 1930s.
Over 300 neon gas diodes create the sound you hear. Pretty awesome for technology from 100 years ago.
Still a work-in-progress.
Recently I've been working with analog magnetic sensors for reading keyboard position, velocity and aftertouch.
Wrote a quick FM-synthesis engine for some sweet 1980s synth bells. Then took the prototype keyboard for a test drive on one of them free jam-tracks. : }

An illustration of a man's face with an unfinished edge, giving it the impression of emerging from the background. The man appears to be somewhat young and has a serious look on his face. The left eye is squinting just a bit more than the right, and his gaze is set directly on the viewer. His lips are closed, His face is drawn as if it was done in charcoal, with black for shadows and white for highlights. The background and neutral color is a dark blue green.
Here's today's Drawrch illustration, just a little bit late!
This was my first time using one of the "new" brushes from the refreshed brush library in Procreate. Not bad!
