Leafs pick is only top-5 protected. Panthers pick, which they moved for a far better player, is top-10. Both teams likely to finish in the 6 to 10 range this year. Great work by everyone involved.

Just a snapshot of the difference between success and failire in the NHL. The small details and thin margins that separate the smart teams from the dumb ones.
