This marker will likely come down but I could see a future where ICE arrest plaques pop up all over, permanently, as some sort of tour like we see now for, say, other things that power did that we eventually realized were wrong. Thanks to @openwheel.racing for the alert.
This historical marker for a 1960 sit-in at a segregated lunch counter is part of a larger effort to place markers for a North Carolina Civil Rights Trail, organized by the state government’s African American Heritage Commission aahc.nc.gov/programs/civ...
I’m a little curious why the historical marker about this oopsie points out the Gregg home had asbestos shingles on the roof.
Jarace Walker played 38 minutes because he gave the Pacers the best chance to lose
I know we’re supposed to celebrate a key “win” for the tank but this is just depressing. How do Wizards and Jazz fans put up with this year after year?
And yet… Nesmith is back?
AJ Dybantsa is feeling better, realizing he might not end up a King after all
Your statement about you’ll know if they’re tanking rings especially true tonight.
The Pacers have tried so hard tonight to tank. And it’s finally working.
I’m a bit surprised Nesmith is back in
And yet…

The John Kluczynski building, formerly site of Illinois’ first Jewish temple. In front of it is the Alexander Calder “Flamingo” sculpture, as seen in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.
Historical marker in Chicago. It reads: On this site, Sept. 23, 1846, the Sisters of Mercy, who provided Chicago with its first hospital, began their charitable, educational and civic services to this city.
Entrance to the Willoughby Tower on Michigan Avenue, where the Sisters of Mercy started their work in Chicago.
Saw some Chicago religious history walking around the Loop: the first Jewish temple in Illinois (in 1847, and still in existence, now in Hyde Park) and the first works of local charity by the Sisters of Mercy (in 1846). What sits today on the temple site should look familiar to Ferris Bueller fans
Nesmith going for Bam tonight
There's a new Trump-Epstein statue on the National Mall.
It's an enormous statue, spray-painted gold, of Trump embracing Epstein in a reenactment of that famous scene from "Titanic."

“You think in a blowout a team would keep feeding their star” tonight the answer was hell yeah
Kings have Killian Hayes so they may be their ace in the hole
Blame Luke Kornet
His covers albums with Susanna Hoffs are sublime
Seeing Matthew Sweet at the Vogue in Indianapolis in 1995 was one of my favorite shows. Truly 100% Fun!
One of the people pushing for a historical marker where Jimmy and Roslyn Carter lived as newlyweds said he hopes “these little kids walking to and from school will see and hopefully ask mom and dad, ‘Who’s Jimmy Carter?’”
They’ll answer, “ask your grandparents.” www.wtkr.com/news/in-the-...
The ick factor on who dedicated a plaza to to Marshall Plan guy in his hometown keeps going up bsky.app/profile/hist...
ZZ Top appeared on a BBC show with Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark in 1980 and nicked not only their sound but also their dance moves domino.elfworld.org/omd-zz-top-s...
The end of the post-World War II order was foretold in 2003. A plaza was dedicated to the late George Marshall, of Marshall Plan and NATO development fame, in his hometown of Uniontown, Pa. There to dedicate it was… Epstein-class royal Prince Andrew.
(Those Marshall quotes in alt of pic 2 hit hard)
Front side of Troutman Sound Labs historical marker in Dayton, Ohio. The full marker reads: “this was the area that supported us, which made us…" --Roger Troutman (1951-1999). Hits by Roger and Zapp, such as "More Bounce to the Ounce" (1980) and the albums Zapp (1980), The Many Facets of Roger (1981), and Zapp II (1982) made Troutman Sound Labs possible. The studio was finished in 1983. The music produced here included the Gold-selling album New Zapp IV U (1985), Shirley Murdock's self-titled Gold album (1987), and Roger's "I Want to Be Your Man," which was #1 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip Hop chart and #3 on the Pop chart in late 1987. Attesting to his lasting influence, Roger and Zapp's music has been sampled nearly 900 times and shaped the sound of West Coast Hip-Hop. Tupac Shakur's "Keep Ya Head Up" (1993) samples Zapp's "Computer Love" (1985), recorded here, as well as "Be Alright" (1980). Troutman's work on Dr. Dre and Shakur's 1995 "California Love" earned a Grammy nomination for best rap performance by a duo or group in 1997. The music made here lives on, although the building that housed Troutman Sound Labs was razed in 2004. Erected 2020 by Levin Family Foundation; Ohio History Connection.

Second marker at the Roger Troutman memorial site in Dayton, Ohio: Roger Troutman (1951-1999), was an artist, songwriter, producer and front man for the world renowned funk band Zapp. Roger played a major role in the Ohio funk movement, heavily influencing west coast hip-hop. Well known for his innovative use of the talk box, a device that created unique vocal effects, Roger scored a bevy of funk and R&B hits throughout the 1980s and 1990s. The Troutman brothers planted their roots in Dayton and contributed to the vibrancy of the city. This marks the site of the former Troutman Sound Labs recording studios where Roger, Larry, Lester, Terry and other musicians produced many gold and platinum sound recordings. Roger is still celebrated by a multitude of friends and fans in Dayton and throughout the world. Roger's musical legacy truly lives on. (Note: Roger Troutman was shot at killed at his studio by his brother Larry)
Sculpture in honor of Roger Troutman in Dayton, Ohio
I stopped at a historical marker with more bounce to the ounce — one memorializing the former site of Roger Troutman’s studio in Dayton, Ohio. The former Zapp frontman and “California Love” guest vocoder-ist’s space is now a small park and memorial.
