Curiko has so much more to offer. A free platform where people can come together over the passions they love. We need more of that, not less. Come say hi on hockey hangout Wednesday from 6:00 to 7:00 to learn more but to also witness what accessible hockey culture looks like.
The world desperately needs more spaces like these, where the bar for entry is low enough for everyone to cross it. Community is desperately needed especially in Vancouver.
Four years ago I started an experience called Hockey Hangout. This space is wildly unique. Anyone is welcome. No matter how much or how little you know about hockey. People join and ask questions like "Which one is the goalie?"
"What colour are the canucks jerseys?" without any fear of judgment.
I've shared a lot about my job in the past because I am so proud of the work that we do. I am a coach for Curiko. As a disabled person I get to coach other people on making their lives better and more fulfilled. I get to talk as someone who's been there, not someone who knows better.
Hi, guys. If you don't follow me on twitter, you might have missed that funding for my incredible job Curiko has been cut. We are looking at alternate avenues for funding, so cross your fingers. I am devastated but i'd like to share a little bit about what i've accomplished in the last four years.
