"You foolishly left all your full stops and commas at home.
I'll pop some down here so you have a few to use on the next post card.
Love mum.

I'm reminded of the Not The Nine O'clock News joke from the 80's that went something like
"In the news today the United States of America apologises for arriving late to WW1 and WW2 but promises to be really prompt to WW3"
It seems less funny today.
Stunning!
Aaaaaand Relax....
Behold... A word salad.
Exactly how I (also as a confirmed atheist) feel about it. Really quite beautiful.
I had a thot the other day but I realised, after a while, it was only a partly formed thot.
Once on a quiet night about 30-40 years ago and heard a strange, rhythmic, rasping sound somewhere in my front room. I thought I was imagining it but finally I located the noise emanating from a slug which was tearing the fuzz off of one of my suede shoes. The hollow shoe behaved as a sound box.
All gentlemen require a pair of slipper brushes (a Left and a Right).
I hang mine on a hook attached to my cravat press...
...am I alone in this...?
Crikey.
I was most surprised the other day to find that one of my Hush Puppies Recycled Slippers had developed a white flash across the toe but...
the mystery was soon solved when I realised some earlier misplacement of flour during a hot-cross-bun bake.
All is well now after using the slipper brush.
From this side of the pond it does seem that the US is turning into some dystopian Margaret Atwood fever dream.
Ah yes... 'The Special Relationship'. The whole concept makes me seethe.
It's only ever envoked by the US when the US wants something.
But, as Kissinger implied, the US does not have friends... it only has interests.
Being admonished by Trump is like being told off by your angry 5 year old.
I've watched a few (actually quite a few) 50's/60's Sci-fi movies of late on YouTube in the inactive moments as a p/t caretaker. Some were charming, some unexpectedly good - profound even, some absolutely appalling.
I'll pop this one on the list.
And again...
Was actually singing 'One night in Paris' (with the dodgy accent) earlier this morning.
Are you living next door? ๐คฃ
Bloody marvellous...
We love prog in this house.
Me: King Crimson
She: Genesis
Both: Jethro Tull, Yes, Rush and the rest...
... errrm, that'll be potato and bread soup... and it's potato bread.
Basically we're living on potatoes.
As reassuring as this result is there are still an uncomfortable amount of Reform votors in Gorton and Denton.
Excellent...
A wonderful piece of work.
My goldfish Bob lived safely, but boringly, in a tank for 25 years. I organised his rehoming in a pond in Enfield when I moved after my mum died (I cared for her for a few years).
Bob was removed from the pond and consumed by a heron.
I like to believe he haunts the pond.
From 'Indiana Jones and the Great Circle' PS5 game. Image of a pile of Nazis/fascists amongst sandbags, tyres and crates. To the right is a hand holding a wrench which has been used to beat them to death. The only good fascist is a dead fascist.
One of my PS5 highlights over Christmas was beating to death fascists with various blunt instruments.
Hate those guys virtual or not.
Was just thinking...
...I'm hoping (from across The Pond) that Trump voters will take Trump at his word and think " Yeah, we don't need to vote".
...so we ended up taking her home in several bin bags.
A tinted black and white photo from the mid to late 60's of my family. I'm the chap on the extreme left, my older sister is next to me. My mother wearing horn rimmed spectacle with my younger sister on her lap sits next to my older brother on the extreme right. You will note that my older sister visited the same hairdresser... my mum. My dad is absent (as he was through most of my childhood) due to his job as a petty officer in the Royal Navy. I love this photo. I love the colouring, its physicality and smell... I had a very happy childhood.
Thinking about my youth and family at that time (see ALT).
Lazy Sunday.
Bread making, plant repotting, some Jazz on vinyl, a little PS5.
But it's Joni with breakfast and wondering what I'm making for dinner tonight.
I might stretch my legs with a wander... I might not.
I love Sundays.
I have, up to quite recently, been interested in visiting the US. I live in the UK and have met quite a few Americans and liked them all.
I'm not going to visit in the foreseeable future - ensuring I would be unwelcome by stating I am Antifa on this platform... 5yrs of social media may be checked.
Completely f##king mad.
Love Zero 7.
Listened to them endlessly when I was going through an episode of hyper mania (now referred to by my friends and family as The Summer of Love).
I did struggle with the equal and opposite depression after (+ a massive debt), but that summer... Oh what a time I had.
Happy and stable now.
That is excellent...
Always thought he had more of a Mussolini vibe...
Either way a fascist through and through.
