Digital sketch study of a Florida Key Deer, Adult Male Key deer stand only about 30 inches tall at the shoulder while females are 26inches tall, making them the smallest subspecies of white tailed deer in North America. Once reduced to just a few dozen individuals, the species rebounded thanks to federal protection and the creation of the National Key Deer Refuge.

Jane Baer has died at 91. A titan, she worked on 'Sleeping Beauty,' co-founded Baer Animation, supervised 'Roger Rabbit,' and advocated for her fellow artists. Few careers trace the evolution of late-20th-century American animation as completely.

Loss of habitat and deforestation is likely the main cause of their endangered status. Sketch study art work, indented for learning purposes.

January 2026 bird whisper project is a Gyrfalcon, and the largest falcon in the world, The gyrfalcon is larger, broader-winged and longer-tailed than the peregrine falcon, which it is known to compete with (and occasionally hunt). It differs from the buzzard in general structure, having pointed wings. Their plumage ranges from snowy white to tawny black and brown depending on age and sex and if in breeding season. Displayed here is a Gyrflacon resting on a branch with sketches of various flight poses and one with a mouth open demonstrating its head anatomy from the side.
