Had thoughts so I wrote them down.
Back in New York and boy did I miss it.
Will be on the road again soon but already thinking of our @groundpass.bsky.social Grand Slam screenings. Last year was the soft launch but excited to go bigger this year during Roland Garros and Wimbledon. Stay tuned.

Finally! βLiveβ from Indian Wells itβs Ground Pass! We break down 9 days in the desert, the changes to the tournament, the Lululemon take over and the tennis. With sound bits from Coco Gauff, Learner Tien, Arthur Fils, Lilli Tagger and more. Links in reply β¬οΈ
6 hours or less of sleep for 9 days is finally catching up with me.
Was talking to Jessica Schiffer and lamenting on how little tennis you actually watch when you are covering a tournament, so was a bit quiet on here yesterday because I actually sat down and watch a few matches. Was a nice reset headed into week 2 at Indian Wells
I donβt know if anyone has compared Indian Wells to CES but I can think of no better analogy for the first few days of the tournament. I talk about what that feels like and share audio from my favourite moments from pre-tournament media day. πβ¬οΈ
My favourite interview on the grounds so far has been with Lilli Tagger. The great thing about coming to these tournaments itβs getting to learn about new players and Lilli has such a unique background. All the interviews will be coming to Substack soon.
I canβt believe I am entering Day 6 at Indian Wells. It has been a whirlwind of shooting OFF SEASON running from interview to interview but itβs been such a worthwhile trip already. Canβt wait to share it all.
Gosh I wish there was 2 of me. Good Night
Itβs my 3rd year at Indian Wells as media are words I just utter. Itβs my first with Ground Pass Podcast on my credential. Something someone told me last year would never happen. Anyway canβt wait to show you all around the grounds. @groundpass.bsky.social

Speaking of OFF SEASON, episode 4 drops on Sunday. We ask the question - Can a tennis player change their shots? Chris Eubanks explains why that can be tough as we follow Camila Osorio, Eliot Spizzirri and Colton Smith through their practice. Trailer β¬οΈ
Spent the morning catching up on my F1 podcasts and they are all reviewing the new season of DTS. Made me feel bad for tennis fans that Breakpoint doesnβt exist. Then I remember I made Off Season
They say make what you want to see in the world, so I am doing it.

We went to Delray Beach, smelled the ocean, watched great tennis, and came back to a blizzard in New York. π₯Ά New Ground Pass episode covering Februaryβs packed tennis calendar, Jessica Pegulaβs Dubai title, the 250 debate, and a 30-match Alcaraz win streak. Links below.
Might be in Dallas but had a great morning watching Womenβs tennis. π€πΎ
Easiest way to tell I am back on site at a tournament

Going to lay low for a couple of days but Iβll be back. Because the work isnβt done.
I wonder what colour the 25 jacket was.
I get the value in the clipable moment let the entrances and hallways but the whole big bother vibe of it, zooming into people phone or the racquets smashing moments are invasive. There should be some common sense discretion used.
OFF SEASON - Episode 2 drops Feb 1st. Here is your first look. After a few days of rest and reflection the work begins. Preparing for the first grand slam of the season, the Australian Open, involves a lot of fun and hard practice sessions.

I didnβt have a podcast at the time but I remember the rhetoric back then. Where was all this energy when the cameras followed Sabalenka and she smashed her racket? Thr players need private spaces. They needed it then and they need it now. This is not a Big Brother house.
You know what I hate, when analysis is coloured by your personal preferences. Because itβs always the ones that call for βjournalistic integrityβ who are the biggest offenders. Clocked.
Good Morning.
This is the stuff I nerd out about. I have worn an Apple Watch since day 1, I wear an Oura ring and have worn the whoop before. If I was in Australia getting to the bottom of this would become my entire job.
Off Season is a documentary series going behind the scenes of the tennis tour. Exploring what it takes for lower ranked players to make it.
Feat. Ethan Quinn, Eliot Spizzirri, Hailey Baptiste & more. Ep 1 is out now. New episodes drop every other Sunday.

This is our only reason for existing. To bring you the under told stories. We might be small but as long as there are stories worth telling, like Eliot Spizzirriβs. We will be there.
Good Night.
