Everytime I revisit Frank PΓ©'s work, I'm reminded precisely why he's one of my favorite cartoonists.

Look at this man.

on the one hand we should want people to change their mind so we can stop what's happening now. On the other hand there need to be costs for the ghoulish behavior that got us here, as these people absolutely will do this again given half a chance

Double-Page Spread. Continued zoom in on the meteor, then we pull back, and then pull back way further, seeing it as tiny in front of the moon and its light. It now looks like a tiny rock in front of the moon.

An excerpt from Christopher Reeve's Wikipedia article, which reads:

In 1993, a teacher at Flowing Wells High School was fired for staging a play with homosexual themes during the school's arts week. In response, People for the American Way held a forum on the issue of censorship in Tucson, Arizona. Reeve and several other actors performed an impromptu reading of the play to a standing ovation. Representing the actors on the panel discussion, Reeve was heckled by some parents, to which he responded, "What I hear this lady saying is that she is uncomfortable with things that don't resemble her or her way of life. This country is founded on a completely different principle, which is tolerance and diversity." The dismissed teacher described the demonstration as "a healing experience".

An excerpt from Christopher Reeve's Wikipedia article, that reads:

Reeve spoke out against Donald Trump's developing projects on West End Avenue in the late 1980s. The 1991 documentary Trump: What's the Deal?, which was suppressed for years, showed Reeve deliver a critical speech on the topic at a public event. The documentary also featured an interview in which Reeve called Trump's ambitions "the American dream gone berserk", adding, "You're allowed to dream as big as you want, but if your dreams step on the lives of ordinary people and ruin the quality of their life and their neighborhood, you have to be stopped."

All Superman actors *will* forever pale in comparison to Christopher Reeve, but in no way that has anything to do with whether or not their Superman smiles on-screen, or whatever.

The film follows a man suddenly fired from a paper company and devises a unique plan to secure a new job: eliminate his competition.

The Eternaut (Oesterheld/Breccia) is one of the greatest comics ever created. It was created in a time of rising political dictatorship and its author was β€œdisappeared” a few years later.

I beg you to go and read it. It is the last story on earth that should have gotten the AI slop treatment.

...did the MORTAL KOMBAT movie make money? Like, of all the things that made *some* money, but not enough for the studio that they promptly cut its plans short, *that* wasn't one of 'em?

the media is letting us down. when they go along with the bullshit of the tech industry, they actively mislead the public ensuring they don’t actually understand how new technology works and what the real pros and cons are as a result.

0/5 Stars for saddling Anthony Carrigan with the most baffling, and least funny attempt at a character quirk.

If you want to be a politically-muddled superhero reboot movie that tries to half-assedly shake up a classic character's core background, at least be THE BATMAN (2022).

SUPERMAN (2025): I don't know why Ultraman is in this movie, and I think James Gunn should work with a female co-writer more often.

Linked In post from Mike Matsel, Principle Development Lead, XBox Graphics:

"The XBox Graphics team is hiring folks with experience with device drivers, GPU performance, or related validation or engineering system experience. If the positions are closed and you want to apply, please message me!"

And below it is an "AI" slop that reads in white on green "XBOX GRAPHICS IS HIRING" and an image of a woman in a green sweater wearing earpods typing on a computer, except the "AI" has put the screen on the back of the monitor.

The fucking head of fucking XBox Graphics used a fucking "AI" slop image to hire new engineers but couldn't tell that the fucking screen on the fucking monitor is facing backwards.
