I’d love news coverage to talk about how political events will affect me as a person, rather than how it’ll impact politicians / parties.

Given the nature of their political stance, the consequences of a Green Party win for *humans beings* seems more important than its effects on the Labour Party.

When Starmer says the Greens and Reform are equally extreme, just as when Labour make the same comparison between SNP and Reform, it causes a visceral reaction in me. Not just because it’s stupid. But because it shows a fundamental triviality about the existential threat posed by the far right.

So for voters switching to Reform it’s, ‘we understand you and sympathise with your concerns’, but for (the much greater number of) voters switching to the Greens it’s, ’you’re being divisive and sectarian’. He’s really not getting it
