Lots of communities are doing fun things for the America 250 celebration. In Garfield County, where quilting has deep roots, one woman came up with an idea to make patriotic quilts and hang them in the courthouse. That idea took off. We’ll have this fun story tonight on KSL TV at 5 and 6.
A 15-year-old Cyprus HS student was killed in a car accident. She was in a vehicle on a dirt road by the school with 8 other students when it rolled. 4 students were taken to a hospital, 4 others treated on scene. West Valley Police are investigating. KSL TV at 4:00 and 5:00.
Fraser Bullock, chair of the Utah 2034 Olympic and Paralympic Committee, just found out he’s going to run a portion of the Torch Relay in Milan. He’ll do it the day before Opening Ceremony of the 2026 Winter Olympics next month. We’ll have a story with him tonight on KSL News at 10:00.
Casey Dawson has qualified for the 2026 Olympics! US Speedskating Team Trials are being held in Milwaukee today and this weekend. Dawson, who is from Park City, won the 5000m race and also qualified for the 10,000m race. Milan will be his 2nd Olympics for Team USA. 🇺🇸

Two buildings are being moved from Springville to Wendover. The buildings were part of the military air base in Wendover during the WWII training of the Enola Gay crew. Clyde Companies bought them after the war. Now they’re going back to preserve history. This story airs KSL TV at 6:00 tonight.
A fire burned a popular woodworking shop to the ground this morning. Frontier Woodworks, in Francis, is a total loss.The cause is still being investigated. The owners daughter told me her parents are on vacation in Idaho out of cellphone range and still don’t know it happened. KSL TV at 5 and 6.

Justin Merrell was at Perry Park in Box Elder County yesterday when he saw a large tree branch fall and kill an 80-year-woman. A 28-year-old woman was also injured. The park remains closed. We’re doing a story on this for our KSL TV 5:00 and 6:30 newscasts.
