Can anyone get me a job in the editorial offices of the ‘The Librarian and Book World’ in 1913? Imagine reading through the submissions for this prize scheme for librarians. Glossary! Machine-set Catalogue!! Bookbinding!!!! Pure library heaven #PubLibs 💙📚

A quick mention of the story originally told in more detail in—Hixon, Sarita A. “The Armstrong Ranch: Establishing and Preserving a Legacy.” The Southwestern Historical Quarterly, vol. 123, no. 2, 2019, pp. 140–55. JSTOR.
Suffice it to say, anecdotally yes—spending time on rabies is important.

Funny you’re posting this today—we got up to a surprisingly crisp cool morning here in Texas, & due to the unusually warm winter we have had informed husband—you know we’ll have to retire sone place that isn’t so hot all the time. I miss cool weather and rain (which we have gloriously had this week)

told the story as part of family history as historical association conference presidential talk—and it still haunts me.

young children while her husband was away. She locked herself in her bedroom with orders to her children not to let her out no matter what. She died in there alone horribly before husband arrived home from trip away from ranch. Kids had been left to care for themselves. Daughter of ambassador

Oh yes—there’s a story of the matriarch (in what became a very powerful ranching family in which later generations included a US ambassador to England & royal family visits to one of the family’s later ranches). Anyhow, this earlier gen young mother got rabies while out on the ranch with her

You just know that the company probably really thought we’d all feel complimented by being labeled as experts.

Hell yes. The ambiguous generative makes the ethics so vague for students and academic colleagues that the overtly horrendously unethical moves more closely to being vaguely acceptable to some—which is astounding.

Questions about measles? Get answers at our webinar, Thursday March 12, 5:00 - 6:00PM ET . Questions submitted so far include: Are there any early signs that help identify measles vs other viruses?

Does any recent data or literature support or suspect this could become a pandemic?

I was vaccinated decades ago. Do I need to have my immunity checked?

I can’t find record of if I’ve gotten vaccinated. Is it safe to go ahead and get vaccinated (again)? Submit your questions: tinyurl.com/MeaslesQuestions312. Register for the webinar: tinyurl.com/MeaslesWebinar312

Okay—my memory is bad. It was public comments to media and posted videos—not court appearances, but even so.

Folks... mute who you've got to. Block who you've got to.

It's seriously not a big deal. Like lol I genuinely promise you it does not matter and you don't owe anyone an explanation, this isn't your job.

I want it but the brand isn’t produced in US. Something about producing machines that too far out perform, or something like that. 😭

I had to do this too, and I am waiting for a reply. I told them I opt out but also took the initiative to literally say “keep my name out of your mouth.” We’ll see🤷‍♀️

Hi! The Onion and Bluesky are throwing a party at South By Southwest in Austin on Saturday. It's free and spots are limited, so sign up nowish.

We did this last year and only a handful of people died, so we're hoping to keep those numbers down once again!
