I've spent the last three days in the hospital with my mom. It was horrifying, but my prior limited medical training paid off and I didn't freak out while I was there. I'm home now to get sleep and just want a warm blanket and a dark room.

Now in the last three days she had a horrible GI bleed to the point where it almost killed her. It was an upper GI duodenial ulcer she's been in the ICU. These last three months have been intense. Personally, I'm on week two of my own hernia and gabladder surgery. I go back to work on Monday.
So my mom, at the beginning of the year, had a strangulated femoral hernia. She had to go in for emergency surgery.That surgery caused anesthesia delusion in her because she has dementia. She went into short term care and now they won't let her go home because she doesn't have a 24 hour caregiver.
