My favorite thing about existing is discovering new ways I can exist.
This piece really deserves a good home! It would also help some therian and trans critters cover bills that are hitting hard.
Please share and if possible, make a purchase?
Which is, buy a used AlphaSmart Neo, which is exactly why I bought the laptop to begin with -- it's a no frills word processor. I *think* the USB cable for my rompler will also work for file transfer from the Neo to my actual rigs. So we'll see how things go.
Contemplating either working on the next iteration of the zine or something else entirely. Might just do that "something else entirely". I accidentally killed the laptop that I ordered for writing by breaking the CMOS battery clip so now I'm just did the thing I should have done anyway.

Fucking around with LANCER builds is fun. Kinda like grabbing a bunch of random parts in COMP//CON & seeing what happens. Currently, working on a NUCav Manticore.
There are now Mardi Gras beads made of biodegradable materials and have okra seeds in them that you can plant. The future can still look bright!
I feel like the next zine should be another Lore Zine, maybe focusing on one of the regions mentioned in this zine, but first I need to finish the current zine. See what I can actually fit on the computer.
Bestiary Zines -- Zines that feature unique threats in the setting. Things like the lake monsters, or even Entropy-Touched animals. Lords of Entropy can't really... be interacted with in a meaningful sense as they're basically... natural disasters in themselves, but their cultists can be!
Adventure Zines -- Zines that provide various adventure sites such as dungeons, caves, or quests to these adventure sites. Think like, "What does the inside of Dagrun's Rest look like and who lives there now?"
Lore Zines -- Zines focusing on the history of a specific region (so like, a zine focused on the Dagrun Hills for example), history in the overall setting, or even lineages in the setting. Something like, "Who is Dagrun and why is this region named after him?"
I kind of want to do a dossier on the various lineages next too, since I kind of want to do some lore dumps. My overarching goal for this zine is to have a series of zines that people can buy from Winking Wytch Press. I know that the current structure can be broken down into three categories.
I'm personally a big fan of heroic undead characters. I grew up playing a flash game called "Sonny", where you play as a zombie. I thought it was pretty neat. The other heroic undead protagonist that influenced the decision were Sir Daniel from MediEvil and the various vampire protagonists in media.
Also, because of my decision to split up the various furry lineages into separate things I'm left with the rather... rough? "Animal Kin" descriptor for the whole umbrella. Not sure I'm a fan of that, but it'll work for now? I guess? Anyway, there's also the Living Dead, which I thought might nice.
In the future, I'm probably going to also be doing zines on individual regions. I didn't have a lot of space to squeeze in the lore that I wanted to, though I managed some, such as "Shadow Walkers" were originally an underground civilization that at some point made it to the overworld.
There's a map on the "inside" of the Zine, which is helpful for the GM to know where everything is, and I imagine players might find it useful too, though the style of the setting is a "West Marches" style, so the players should probably make their own map.
Zero idea how I'm going to fit art on this, but we'll see where we're at when I actually lay out the zine in Affinity. A few things I've also learned, in addition to space: I oriented my zine wrong, so when you fold it, the zine is "upside down". Also, 10 unique lineages is harder than I thought.
a picture of an 8.5 x 11 piece of paper with my own hand writing on it. There is also a picture of a castle and the title of the zine, "The Last Bastion" on it.
Just finished the prototype for the zine for a BRIGHTHAMMER setting, and wow I'm really impressed. There's somehow simultaneously less room and more room than I thought there would be for writing.
That said, I *am* writing again. Developing a whole ass setting for it and actually outlining for it. Pretty cool shit tbh. I like being creative. I missed it. I'm happy it's finally coming back to me.
Like, I've been sick the past week and on Wednesday, my fiancee and I watched the extended edition of Lord of the Rings, which put me in the mood to do Brighthammer stuff again. I'm always talking about doing Brighthammer stuff, but never doing it. It's like my writing.
In this hypothetical scenario, I would also likely just publish a setting zine and release adventure zines in the setting.
Can't sleep, brain is too busy trying to figure out how to run a BRIGHTHAMMER game in a West Marches style campaign.

Started a new project, because I don't have enough new projects to do. This one is called "Conversations With My Past Self"... which I'm... doing in RPGMaker MV... for reasons that aren't quite clear to myself either.

Anyway, this is your weekly proof of life.
For a bit, PRKR gave up the piano. I picked it back up. I'm picking up writing again, slowly but surely. I've got a lot of ideas but not all of them are going to make it to the world and that's OK.
Theodora is different from PRKR, who was previously Irene. That's the most I'm comfortable going in on with people here on BSky. But, like Irene, PRKR, even <Deadname>, the constant through line of wanting to write still exists, even if it occasionally wavers.
