What was your reaction to seeing Mega Man 11 get revealed after so much time waiting for a brand new game?

I unfortunately can't give an answer to this because I wasn't around in the Mega Man fandom when 11 got revealed.

Mega Man 11 is the only Classic Mega Man game, and the only Mega Man game that isn't a collection, to be released in the United States first, as it was released two days earlier in the US than in Japan. Only the Mega Man X Legacy Collection and Mega Man Zero Collection have also done this.

What is your favorite spinoff title from the Mega Man classic series?

I think my favorite is Mega Man Powered Up (considered a spinoff as it's not a numbered entry).

There exists graphics for an unused copy protection system in Mega Man for DOS. You would be shown a picture of an enemy from the game, and you would need to consult the game's manual, find the enemy's picture, and type in the name, similar to how some other DOS games' anti-piracy worked.

What do you think is the worst case of US localisation errors in the Mega Man series?

Kind of a predictable answer, but I think it's the original Mega Man. The US manual completely butchers the story, and coupled with the freakish box art it's just overall terrible.

It also mentions that Mega Man and Dr. Wily have been enemies since 1985 in an attempt to explain this error. However, this is also untrue, as Wily's first attempt at taking over the world happened in 200X, so therefore it could not possibly have been 1985.

The manual for Mega Man on the Game Gear says that Mega Man has been "saving the universe on console screens around the world for over ten years". This is untrue, as the game released in 1995 and the original Mega Man released in 1987.

If you could bring back one cancelled Mega Man project, what would it be?

I would personally bring back Mega Man Universe, it seems like an interesting concept.

During a Christmas livestream in 2021 featuring the president of Inti Creates, Takuya Aizu, it was revealed that a third Mega Man ZX game was in development around the time of Mega Man 9's development, codenamed "Mega Man ZXC". It was cancelled likely due to the poor sales of ZX Advent.

Who is your favorite character from the Mega Man Legends series?

My answer would be, fittingly enough for this daily fact, Tron Bonne.

The Misadventures of Tron Bonne's Japanese title, Tron ni Kobun, is likely based on the proverb "neko ni koban" (giving a gold coin to a cat), which means "casting pearls before swine". The game makes no reference to this, so it was likely chosen because "koban" and "kobun" sound similar.

My answer would probably be either Mayl/Maylu or Masa/Maysa.

A US trailer for Mega Man Battle Network 6 says that the games are meant to tie into "MegaMan NT Warrior Beast". However, this is not true, as Rockman.EXE Beast never received an English dub. It is unknown whether there were plans to dub Beast or whether this is just an error.

The Archie comics are certainly a close second for me in terms of non-videogame Mega Man media. They were fantastic adaptations of the games and had some really well-written original stories too

What is your favorite piece of Mega Man media outside of the games?

My answer would definitely be MegaMan NT Warrior, I really like the way it adapts the Battle Network series.

Although the Mega Man Ruby-Spears cartoon is considered to be the first Mega Man cartoon, there was one that came before it. Mega Man: Upon a Star is a Japanese OVA series released in 1993, while the Ruby-Spears series first aired in 1994, making Upon a Star the first.

Me personally, my favorite Robot Master is probably Knight Man, my favorite Maverick is Magma Dragoon, and my favorite NetNavi is FireMan.EXE/TorchMan.EXE.

The Rockman 6 manga brings a unique change to one of the Robot Masters; Centaur Man is revealed to actually be a woman disguised as a man. She is also revealed to be the girlfriend of Knight Man in this continuity, attacking Mega Man in rage due to him defeating Knight Man beforehand.

What is your personal favorite Mega Man game (from any of the different series)?

For me, it's probably either Mega Man 10 or the original Mega Man Battle Network.

Chokkan! Rockman was released for the Keitai Capcom phone service in January 2008. It's a collection of 12 minigames themed around different Mega Man characters, such as moving a cursor around Dr. Wily to make him dizzy, a rhythm game against Elec Man, or a skiing game with Fire Man.

Fact #28

AquaMan.EXE's name was changed to SpoutMan.EXE in the English localization of Mega Man Battle Network 6, as well as in MegaMan NT Warrior. The reason for this was likely to avoid being sued by DC Comics, due to both of them having a character named Aquaman.

(btw sorry for the hiatus i ended up going back to using twt and haven't used bsky in ages, however I'm planning to keep this account going at least)

The first trailer for Mega Man X7 shows an early version of the game's intro stage, with differences like Axl being absent and the camera angle being different. Also, the back of the game's box shows X in the intro stage, which cannot be done without cheats as it is meant for Axl and Zero.

Worlds Collide may have saved the Sonic and Mega Man Archie comics, as it allowed Ken Penders' characters to be removed easily after his attempts to sue Archie over the use of the his characters, and the potential cancellation of the Mega Man comics due to not meeting sales expectations.

For some reason, in the Mega Man DOS games, Mega Man does not change color when he equips a Special Weapon. Also, in the first game, the Mega Buster is referred to as the "Plasma Cannon", a name which would be reused in the Mega Man Ruby-Spears cartoon.
