Some sensible talking right?... Tet's have some more sensible talk now when we realise how sloppy all this can be.
I really believe by making very quick prototypes and showing (poor) results of stuff to orgs, you can get some way now in having a good convo about why data governance matters.

This quote sort of hit me about how quickly models/approaches are going to keep evolving:
"This is why weβre excited. With emerging technology, itβs possible weβll be using a different acronym in six months, but right now, MCP looks like a real path to solve this"

Weβre all humans feeling stuff with shit going on - some of us more than others.

Geesh never felt a language barrier so much trying to help an Afghan woman crying on the train whoβs been separated from her children. I donβt know why, and I couldnβt quite work out how but she was really distressed
We held hands together for a leg of the journey + got her phone charged back up π

All this to say that, through making it allows us to think about policy, what tools we find useful, and what we need our data to do for us.
If you're an org, I think it's essential to have data/tech/design on the board as a role now
No more expensive pilots, prototypes to explore art of possible

Been fun playing with some National Park open documents/data and seeing what we can do.
Whilst waiting for the train, had a go at a project I've had in my head for a while around specific locational information points scraping data on walks, habitat, species and weather, including local byelaws

A risk appetite tool with options that says Check your decision against our risk appetite
Had a board meeting at Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park today.
During the session on the paper about risk appetite, I took the (publicly released) written PDF, and created a Riskbot, so staff can ask questions about different decisions they are making and how to map risk

An online set of browser widgets showing it is, in red, too wet - wait to mow the lawn
In my continuing flex of spinning up web apps for our house dashboard that are extremely British, @loudowne.bsky.social asked me for a 'To mow or not to mow' indicator

still canβt understand why Sam Ryder was the UKβs biggest recent hope - I just donβt get it. Nothing against the guy at all but the song wasnβt very Eurovision to me

Surely this is something Gov can do through a research partnership, sample size and then do some math as a basic starting point?
I'm using University College Dublin research, a small sample size, so not entirely accurate, but it's impactful I think when you consider the size.

Still playing, and setting up my stack / Claude Code, but made a counter that shows since the year began, how many hours are spent on life admin in the UK by each citizen (paying bills, phoning companies, chasing issues) based on research from UCD Dublin.

@loudowne.bsky.social and I have such a LONG list of 'farm tech' we want to build for our fermentation studio.
I'm out of control. There may be 10 raspberry Pi's on order...
Can sort of edit code across python/java/html etc but this just gives me that leapfrog to get into it/share ideas with devs

This isn't complicated, but astonishing it took me < 3 mins to prompt and go online

I'm going to need to stop everything I'm doing and make more tools.
