There’s still a lot in this bill that’s great (smaller elevators for smaller buildings, technical advisory group reconsideration of a few cost-increasing requirements with very questionable benefits), but this is a bummer. If we defer to elevator industry interests, there’s only so much we can do
The $115 million in estimated tax revenue for SSHD is just that — an estimate. We should have a more precise estimate of how much the social housing payroll tax is bringing in for housing by the end of the month. The 5% tax on pay above $1 million is paid by employers, not employees.
