It's a pretty simple distinction really. Humans and animals are separated by capacity for intelligence and the ability to form complex societies. Animals and monsters are differentiated by whether they have an unyielding hatred for all life and an anatomy that makes sense.

Though, you also have monsters, which tend to usually just be unholy amalgamations of different creatures and/or objects. They're made by the Shayta as mockeries of the life forms created by the Divines, and are limitless in their diversity if nothing else...

For example, the monoceros is affiliated with light, while the todor is more aligned to darkness. Both are subspecies of horses that have adapted to different environments and have different temperaments.

Oh, so many. A lot of animals in Theryl tend to either be classic mythical creatures, or otherwise normal animals with a slight twist. The main thing of note is that nearly all of them have an elemental affinity of some kind.

Alternatively: a floof

Hyo has skoha; wolves with either bright orange or blue fur that can be nocturnal or diurnal depending on the color. Skoha are primarily used as companions to local law enforcement, acting as guard dogs or otherwise helping to sniff out suspicious cargo.

In Dhesa, it's common for carriage to be pulled along by todors: horses with thick, shaggy dark fur that keeps them warm in the cooler environment, even though that fur tends to obscure their faces.

There are a good few worth mentioning. In Elux, the most notable domestic animals are monoceri and griffons. The former are horned horses who can typically only be tamed by someone they innately trust. The latter are bird-lion hybrids that are ridden by elite knights.

The MC who's had the most interaction with plants, among my Seeker protagonists, is probably Sulfur. She is a hunter that specializes in using poison darts, so naturally, she's used to dealing with toxic flora.

The yanba is identified by its flat, square leaves and stocky brown root. It's not the most flavorful by itself, but works well in most stews.

Perhaps one of the most notable crops in Theryl is the yanba: a vegetable that originated in Hol, but has since become quite common in most nations. The reason is simple: the yanba thrives in cold weather where most plants freeze, making it an ideal crop for winter months.

However, there is a certain plant that much coveted by healers the world over, said to only grow in certain regions of Hol and Skogach. It's known by a few names, but perhaps most common is Dreamer's Respite. It is, at present, the only plant known to be able to treat suleptosis...

All manner of medicines exist in Theryl. Its said that, with the plant god's blessing, any ailment or injury can be treated. Healers often ask for his guidance in learning which herbs and reagents to mix in order to yield the best results for a given circumstance.

As established previous, Sancti trees produce a special sap with an intoxicating aroma. This aroma is used by seers to entice the birds of the sun and the moon, Ruxima and Phela, to bestow seers with their feathers. This simple act of reverence earns the deities' favor.
