Per the AP, these were the pre-arbitration bonus pool payments to Red Sox players:
Jarren Duran $1,321,661

Kutter Crawford $237,986
Formula is based on awards voting and WAR.
2025 will be Pivetta’s age 32 season, and coming from a Red Sox fan, he is what he is: durable but frustratingly inconsistent. Looks like an Ace for stretches and looks like the worst pitcher in the world for stretches - literally no in between with him.

Can't imagine this is *good* news for Nolan Arenado wrt aging and his lost power.
👀
Red Sox, by the way, scheduled to play the Rays in Tampa April 14-16 and Sept 19-21.
Red Sox fans dying to trade Casas and Mayer at their lowest values is so puzzling.

Yusei Kikuchi has a three-year, $63 million deal with the Angels, per source. @jonheyman.bsky.social was on it.
I couldn’t agree with Ed more. This whole “rumor” of wanting to move Raffy off of 3rd is so dumb and unserious for a multitude of reasons…. (🧵)
From an AVG EV standpoint Meidroth is solid. But the higher end EVs aren’t there and his launch angles are not great leading to really poor barrel rates. Reminds me a bit of Ke’Bryan Hayes but Hayes hits the ball harder
I don't actually hate Arenado but not if it means trading Casas. I just don't think moving Devers off third is as urgent as others do. He's fine when he has a good defensive shortstop. Waste of resources.
Not as vehemently against the Arenado rumors as many seems to be. What I would be vehemently against would be trading Casas so that Raffy could move to 1B if they dealt for Arenado. That would be next level brain dead stuff. If you want to move Raffy off of 3B, just make him a DH.
Wrote about two secondary extremes of Corbin Burnes to consider as he makes his free agent case: something he's elite at, and something he was worst in baseball at

What a thing to wake up to WTF
#RedSox played 20 extra-innings games in 2024, the most in #MLB, and tied for 6th-most in club history (also 1996, 1956, 1940). The most extra-innings games for BOS was 31 in 1943.
In 2024, the average time for an extra-innings BOS game was 3 hours, 16 minutes. In 1946 with was 2:26.
Per source, Mike Napoli will be joining Terry Francona and the Reds in some capacity. Had been Cubs’ first base coach.
Red Sox announce that Bailey Horn has been claimed by Detroit on waivers and that Bryan Mata and Isaiah Campbell have been non-tendered.
Non-tendering those two, who had been DFA, means they aren't exposed to waivers. Opens the door to potentially re-sign one or both to minor league deals.
Red Sox make their 2025 coaching staff official.
Jose Flores, who’d been bench coach in Triple A, is now Red Sox first base coach.
Parker Guinn was Yankees Dominican Summer League manager the last two years, now a catching instructor.
The other additions had been previously announced.
Jarren Duran finished eighth in the AL MVP vote, and Rafael Devers 13th. Full voting results:
Is Garrett Crochet worth the risk? I believe in him long term more than Blake Snell, I’ll say that much. bellyupsports.com/2024/11/garr...
