π₯° Iβve also taken time to help teach the loudest in class to learn how to make space for and uplift others. Thereβs more than one spotlight, and one of the most rewarding things is seeing that spotlight shine on someone standing beside you.

And I think if they taught teachers how to critically analyze curriculum it would be the change youβre looking for. But it will take time and people pushing for change.

It benefits them. Itβs a reflection of society and what they want us to value. Iβm not sure how it works in the states but teachers here are not taught to critically dive into their curriculum to look for influence. Someone somewhere decided to gate-keep that knowledgeβ¦

Im a teacher in Canada who sees the same things. I actually just wrapped a paper this morning on neoliberalism influence on our science curriculum. And to answer your question there are some strong powerful groups and movements who work in the background and want education to be just like this. π¬

Iβm in my curriculum course tonight (my fav!!!) and weβre talking about curriculum mapping and the power behind visualizing it.
One thing I do to start a course is put each expectation on a coloured post it to help me sequence, find repetitions, identify good cross-concept ideasβ¦ itβs sooo helpful!
