Not for one moment did I believe those bands were Nazis themselves. Just stupid young idiots at the time, flirting with Nazism. Time has proven such. Loved their music though. Not sure that the author is 100% right on everything (he’s very confident) but I note what he says. An important book.

I’ve got this book. I’ve also got some of the records mentioned. Banshees, JD and NO were three of my favourite bands. I ALWAYS criticised punks for having a swastika on display. I found it pathetic, not shocking. I’ve had fights with Nazis in both my home town and London. I have my own stories.

A club which cannot sustain its time at the top for very long. Up & down the divisions - promotion & relegation - umpteen times, certainly since the '60s. Seems to be the nature of this club. Now stuck in a rut, new manager or not.
