Retro indie games with modern game feel and better UI etc are awesome. I’m playing way more indie games these days and loving it!
That makes sense. Modern indie games have so many games to look back at for art and gameplay examples. They aren’t limited by frame rate or controllers anymore. They can improve the feel, art, sound and so much more. There were so few games back in the day but those retro games paved the way.
I’ve been testing a friend’s new word game and it’s super fun! Give Hexaboo a try on your phone or browser if you get a chance. I’ve been tweaking my approach to playing and yesterday was my highest score yet!
The way Crawling Angels connects to the narrative of my other games is something I’m really proud of.
