Bob Mortimer is a good example. Especially if you listen to the audiobooks. Michael Palin also though his main focus is non fiction.

Not really or weβd have stopped shipping in petroleum based tat and junk years ago. Instead weβve allowed sales to grow exponentially. Shein and Temuβs biggest markets are the US and Europe.
Had a Skellig chocolate egg years ago - it was solid chocolate. Looks like they still do them skelligschocolate.com/shop/easter/...
That list has made me think of and listen to so many great Irish songs because they werenβt on it so grateful for that.
Thats a treasure!
Ah wow. That was a great documentary. He was such a talent.
I never got the βshes trying to pronounce my name lyricβ until I was in London a few years later and heard Cathal being butchered.
Revelino were brilliant- was lucky to see them live as well as Fatima Mansions. Im assuming Microdisney didnt get a look in either- Town to Town was a perfect pop song
I liked Linger at the time but they werenβt for me. But they were huge abroad so good on them - when I was travelling in the late 90s/early 00s - it was them even more than U2 people mentioned when I said I was Irish.
Stadler and Waldorf in chains as the ghosts Marley & Marley from The Muppets Christmas carol
These two can make a start
Hes a nasty, nasty man.
I finished secondary school in 1989. I remember my Chemistry teacher talking about needing to move away from fossil fuels and also the proliferation of plastic being a related issue.
Othering at its finest.
Every local parade seems to have posts on their socials with AI slop - garish 4 leaf clovers and creepy looking Leprechauns. Depressing
Same but for 30s/early 40s. Only one I can think of is Count John McCormack via my Dad
Was v aware of all the β50s stars who died in plane crashes - my Mum seemed to have been a fan of all of them
Thankfully that name is gone from there now. I have no issue with some small artefacts from other countries being in museums elsewhere but the scale of what was looted is mind boggling. They claim they saved some from a worse fate but time to send it home now.
Did these lads ever complain about Mrs Brown, Mr Pussy or Danny La Rue back in the day? Its an old trope using drag in ads but never bothered them much before Im guessing
Thankfully they only have a print of The Great Wave off Kanagawa. I went recently and it is uncomfortable seeing the huge gallery with the Parthenon Sculptures. Thirty years ago I probably wouldnβt have questioned it though π₯΄. Same with the Louvre.
This image shows Archbishop John Charles McQuaid interacting with schoolgirls in 1953. They kneel in front of him and one is kissing his ring
McQuaid seen in traditional clerical vestments, including a lace rochet and a long train (cappa magna) carried by an assistant
Perfectly normal timesβ¦
Cats - from the time I could walk. Donkeys - regular walks through the Donkey sanctuary in Liscarroll was a balm to a fractured spirit at a certain time of my life. Hares - I catch my breath on the sight of them, its only few times a year sadly.
Not odd at all. Its all about perspective. Many British people arenβt aware that this is controversial including my 1st/2nd relations in England. The impact of Britain (England particularly) is very obvious on Irish history, the impact in the opposite direction is far more subtle.
Americans are kind of lucky in that arent they? They donβt really need to be aware of the outcome of other countries elections. Hungary have elections in two days time and lots of Europeans are watching very closely.
This graphic has caused huge rows on here. The term British Isles is not recognised by us in Ireland. It is not a legal or political term.
Complex politics or simple geography: Is Ireland part of the British Isles? jrnl.ie/1140112
Definitely-I remember some fabulous spots there. No excuse here now with people swimming all year now. Even England has some amazing Lidos and are regenerating many of derelict facilities. We just shrug our over shoulders here.

Loving Simon and Garfunkel on BBC4.
I stayed up for Cillian but he was from my neck of the woods. If I give up next week I wont feel as bad now. Disappointed in the pair of them π
Paid well by the UAE to project a shiny veneer over the reality of what life is like behind the scenes
Every person I have heard interviewed has gushed on about the rollercoaster of the last few days etc. I havenβt heard one person show empathy with civilian populations in Iran or the gulf states who werenβt in transit, on hols or are so called βexpatsβ (ie immigrants)
I feel sorry for people who donβt get cats. If she doesnβt get it I mightnβt be as disappointed nowβ¦ (Ill still stay up though)
Had the pleasure of seeing 3 people alongside us thrown out of a Richard Hawley gig. Though Id passed a few comments to them (& got told to stop being a mammy), it was the people in front of us got security. Beer down the back of a neck proved too much.
Not a good look.
