just found out weβve directly paid march rent for just shy of 130 families through the mutual aid funds that weβve been raising through the salon β₯οΈ this is in addition to what weβve been doing through venmo and whatnot. we ran a separate fundraiser through chuffed that was very successful
There was a serious house fire earlier this week on Polk street. Not only is the family suffering from the damage to their house, but early in the morning after the fire their house robbed and belongings were stolen. Letβs help our neighbors in Waite Park recover.

Okay, it was two different ones. I do remember eating bananas with american cheese as a kid, because of Mr. Rogers.
I think it was two different snacks-- one was peanut butter and the other one was american cheese.
βTo believe in laws over belief in people is to be colonized.β
βsome noted they had lost fans and donors. There are some people who like Irish music but think ICE is just here to enforce the law. But Natalie OβShea, executive director at Celtic Junction, told me, βTo believe in laws over belief in people is to be colonized.ββ
NEW βWeβre celebrating a tradition that is at its core about resisting occupation and maintaining community in the face of horrors. You canβt keep politics out of Irish music. No one should try, for two reasons. First, itβs ahistorical. Second, Minnesotans are ready for a big anti-fascist party.β
This question means thereβs a lot more political education to be done.

Feb being a short month means that MN rent organizers (which, beautifully, is a large proportion of the population) have been at it nonstop, literally pulling cash out of the banks every business day to the extent that thereβs a shortage. Itβs not just larger multiple-family funds, either. 1/?
The originally posted need is now met! If youβre here reading this and want to support families in MN affected by ICE, please donate to a rent relief fund listed on standwithminnesota.com. Iβve been working to fundraise with them and I can vouch for the funds that are up there.

Eviction Moratorium by March 1st. KEEP OUR NEIGHBORS SAFE!
Thousands of vulnerable Minnesotans have been sheltering in their homes all winter for fear of detainment, physical violence and deplorable conditions at federal detention centers. Many have lost their jobs and ability to earn rent during this crisis. Residents across the state are calling on Governor Walz to protect our neighbors and declare an eviction moratorium immediately. Walz has done it before. He declared an eviction moratorium in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, which lasted 16 months before being fully phased out in 2022. We must receive protection during this crisis as well.
Even as neighbors work at to compesate for the government's lack of support, countless Minnesotans are falling through the cracks. We donβt need empty declarations from politicians, we need an immediate moratorium and rent relief to keep our neighbors safe. We demand the city's largest evictors Dominium, Millenium, Level 10, BLVD, IPG, and the Minneapolis Public Housing Authority keep families in their homes.
KEEP OUR NEIGHBORS SAFE. NO EVICTIONS UNDER OCCUPATION. GOVERNOR WALZ, MINNESOTANS DEMAND ACTION.
3β£ We demand an eviction moratorium by March 1st. We need rent relief to keep our neighbors safe in their homes. Take action with us in the Twin Cities Feb. 25th- March 1st. Find more at www.melttheicemn.com π₯β€β
They are in downtown St Paul at this very moment casing restaurants that close soon and the 3 hospitals.
Observer friend was followed home into downtown by 2 confirmed ICE plates this morning. Took her pic and drove away, didn't hide it.
This ain't over at all.

-link to our mutual aid fund
-MN Attorney General federal action report form (to share how we've been impacted by ICE)
-Know Your Rights information
-resources for food insecurity
Minnesota residents and lawmakers say the promised drawdown has not materialized, and they are seeing ICE use more covert tactics to continue operations across Twin Cities suburbs.

This Homan claim is stupid and has been debunked. It's not a tally of "missing" children in the way any normal person understands that phrase. It's children DHS considers unaccounted for from an immigration paperwork perspective. It doesn't mean they aren't with family or a legal guardian.
Weβre still seeing ICE a lot in the suburbs, following legal observers to their homes, and holding tons of our neighbors at Whipple and then dumping them out in the middle of the night. We still need to stay vigilant until every last one of them leaves our state and our neighbors are back home.
It would be a lot easier for people to βshop localβ if we weren't already spending a bunch of money fundraising to keep our neighbors in their homes and fed because Gov Walz refuses to do an eviction moratorium.
