Kombucha is just yuppie prison wine.
Haven't found them yet, but they look like this. I also ran into Canon versions when looking for a pic.
You made me look for my Nikon lens shot glasses. Couldnโt find them...yet! ๐คฃ
I recently joined Substack so I could subscribe to a friend's page. I thought maybe I should try something.
That's great!
As a former Iowan, same.

Today, sailplane pilots are heading to Ephrata WA, for the US Region 8 Championships. For a week, you are tested on your ability to fly, with as much precision and speed as you can. I was lucky to win my first one, but didn't even come close after that. ssa.org/racing-sailplanes/

Studio portrait of a gentleman named Mark Miller.
I want to send a birthday wish to my older brother Mark. We lost him 20 years ago, when he and cancer decided to take each other out. I was fortunate to have him visit and spend a week. Being able to take this portrait, meant so much to me. He was a carpenter, a dad, a brother to 10 of us.
45 years ago I married this beautiful, sweet girl named Rhonda. I was smitten! We were so young and broke, but everything felt perfect. Things got so busy...working, figuring out life, raising kids.
Now we are living our second life surrounded by grandchildren. I feel so lucky. Happy 45th Rhonda!๐

It grabbed a mouthful skipping across my lawn in less than 30 second. I was impressed!

Yesterday I worked on catching bees in flight. I failed miserably at this a couple days ago, so I just had to try again.

I spent some time yesterday photographing bees. This was a first for me.
Most of the time, my head was a foot away from them. Luckily they were too busy with the task at hand to worry about me. I tried my best to catch them flying with marginal results. A new challenge for next time!

The schools and most small colleges don't have the resources to manage grass fields. I lost my last dirt field from my usual stadiums in 2017. Luckily I was there for the final mud-bowl. I miss it! Lumen Field in Seattle will have to pull their turf and put in grass for the world cup.
The turf is plastic grass with rubber fill. It gets hot when the sun shines on it and worse if there is no wind to sweep it away. You have to limit how far across the field you can shoot. You end up with missed focus and inconsistent sharpness. The worst I've seen...Lumen field. Large bowl..no wind
Thanks! I bring my infrared camera when I cover sports... if it's sunny out, or I want to experiment. This day I had no assignment or connection to any schools. The turf was getting too hot, making most "normal" pics unusable. So I went with "how will IR do?"
