I found this 100% recycled polyester yarn. That seems like a more sustainable option, although it doesn't address the micro plastic issue. Looking fo recycled fiber chenille that is not so chunky (this is for 20 mm needle size, i.e. fingers βπ»)
Crocheted orange and yellow bedside mat in the making. The stitches are dense and fluffy and the carpet is round.
A #LoopStitch bedside mat in the making. Too bad chenille yarn feels heavenly but it's actually made in hell (100% polyester=plastic & shedding a lot of fibers=micro plastics). I had some skeins in my possession. Once used up, I'll try to resist the temptation of buying any more
