OpenMaui Linux is out!

The biggest lesson from this project? An individual with enough energy & persistence can still make a difference. A special thanks to the @anthropic.com
Ever looked at your calendar and seen a meeting for a "Discovery Call" you never booked? It’s not a glitch, and you aren’t losing your mind.
It’s a new AI sales tactic called "Calendar Hijacking."
I break down exactly how they’re bypassing your spam filters and how to shut it down in 30 seconds.
Much respect for Mike Reed's at Google around Skia.
A study published in Nature Communications reports higher cancer mortality rates in U.S. counties closer to operational nuclear power plants, with the strongest relative risks observed in older adults. 🧪
And the uncomfortable answer will be that too many people could not move past the color or gender of the person standing in front of them.
That moment will say more about us than any policy debate ever could.
Watch what happens when global confidence in the US erodes.
At some point, the world will ask how a country that prides itself on merit chose a convicted felon & failed businessman with a long record of unethical behavior over a candidate with a formal background in political science & economics.
BREAKING: OpenAI hardware/robotics leader Caitlin Kalinowski resigned, saying concerns about domestic surveillance without judicial oversight and lethal autonomy without human authorization were not sufficiently deliberated in OpenAI’s Pentagon deal.
Can we get any more Orwellian?
I am not opposed to this administration using Anthropic.
I am opposed to it removing the constraints that force intelligence to answer to ethics. The filters matter precisely because power, left to itself, rarely chooses the collective unless it is required to.
I forgot how much I loved *nix in the beginning. If not for AI, I may have never rediscovered my first passion and power of that raw experience so many decades ago.
Is it any wonder the individuals Trump keeps promoting to roles are unqualified, lack ethics, lack education and routinely are fired or prosecuted.
A ruler who surrounds themselves primarily with loyalists or flatterers risks poor decision-making because information becomes filtered.
Good news today: @standupforscience.bsky.social is organizing rallies for science. 💪
Bad news:
Funded science is way down.
This is why I said wks ago the budget bill was “bad because it doesn’t go far enough.” How the science agencies are governed matters!!! This is killing labs. 🧪
I’m not anti-AI. I’m buying the machines.
I’m saying hardware pricing gets ugly fast when AI demand, dollar erosion, and geopolitical risk hit the same supply chain at once. It does not need a literal 10x overnight move to be a real problem.
This chart proves the mechanism... memory pricing can look boring for months, then go nearly vertical once supply gets tight and buyers start competing for allocation.
Not literal overnight spot RAM 10x. I’m talking about curve distortion.
A few giant AI buyers hitting constrained memory and HBM supply can move pricing far harder than people anchored to normal market behavior expect. That is already happening.
The way the build, it's in sections and they always start but never finish.
I don't struggle with the length, they will never complete that but even starting will send prices up 10 fold.

Kiss our RAM prices good bye
People may not like @cnn.com but they have reporting standards that reflect stewardship.
Hat Tip
How do you fix this? Here is how.
“Missile strike hits Israeli city; 9 killed, officials say.”
“Strike hits school in Iran; dozens killed, officials say.”
This is one of the fastest ways trust collapses, because readers aren’t parsing epistemic status... They’re parsing stance.
Power without awareness becomes compliance.
Redemption is not for the perfect... it is for the brave. You were meant to rise, not be buried beneath your pain.
Forgiveness is not something you earn... it is something you accept. And it begins with forgiving yourself.
Bridges don’t get parades. But bridges decide whether anyone makes it across.
Gen-X doesn't need a head pat or a nostalgia trip. We need a job. Not a title... a mandate to fix the plumbing of society before the pipes burst.
This is my answer to why our cynicism is actually a superpower.
I missed the paper but glad it was shared again.
What if the conflict in Iran isn’t a security crisis, but the most sophisticated debt-management strategy in history?
It’s a bit ironic, isn’t it? We spent decades worrying that AI would lack "soul" or "humanity," yet it turns out our own very human "ego" is the thing preventing us from using it effectively.
I show that the machine is ready to be a polymath; we just have to be okay with being the student.
After watching the Winter Olympics, a hat tip to my American brothers and sisters for their wins.
Watching Norway in the Winter Olympics is the closest thing we have to a historically safe demonstration that longships weren’t a bluff.
