Donald Trump is now just openly bragging about interfering in the media. He's the president. He's running a truck over the first amendment here.

they're gonna spend $50B re-opening the Strait of Hormuz over the next 6 months and then act like it's this huge victory when they only thing they accomplished was restoring the pre-war status quo

Watching Politico get told they're sanewashing shit by the guy they're sanewashing is just excellent. Media cooked. Getting dunked on by the people they're protecting. We are in the post-dignity era of the press.

Obvious attack on the First Amendment, and also--importantly--an attack on the second amendment

One asshole did a stupid thing, and the completely legal firearms owned by other protesters became evidence of domestic terrorism

βœ‹ Former USG war crimes lawyer here.

Apropos of SecDef's remarks this morning:

Denial of quarterβ€”even the declaration of no quarterβ€”is a war crime.

And recognized as such by the US Government.

From DoD's Manual for Military Commissions.

A Message from The Woke Ginger
Tonight I posted a piece of content about the primaries taking place in IL-09 on March 17. Shortly after posting, I realized it did not meet the standards I've set for my platform, so I removed it.
I want to be clear: I do not endorse candidates on my platform. My focus is on the larger issues and encouraging people to research, engage, and vote for the candidates they believe will bring about meaningful change.
My intent with the post was to encourage voters in the district to look into the unusually large pool of 16 candidates before heading to the polls. In my haste, I used one candidate as an example. That was not a balanced approach, nor was it appropriate to single out one candidate out of sixteen without discussing them all.
My goal is to stick to facts and remain balanced, and that post clearly did not meet those goals. My platform is still young, and I'm continuing to learn and grow-especially when discussing elections and candidates.
I want to sincerely apologize to Kat Abughazaleh and wish her the best of luck in the upcoming primary.

So I don’t think a sitting president has ever threatened the life of a soccer team coming to their country’s World Cup?

We cannot stop mass deportations without seriously reckoning with the American obsession with arrests and prosecutions.

1000% what happened AND despite this young people CONTINUE TO PROTEST AND TAKE ACTION. That's the thing that I find so damned disingenuous among some of these people.

Respectfully, eat shit. Those kids were expelled, arrested, and targeted relentlessly by their school administrations with the specific goal of preventing further protest. Eighteen year old kids were held down and maced by campus security, hit point blank with tear gas canisters by riot cops.

there is actually a pretty big difference between stealing an item from the world’s largest corporate behemoth and joining a movement premised on the degradation and subjugation of disfavored groups of people

just as there is a difference between, say, throwing a toy and torturing a cat

Grammarly Is Facing a Class Action Lawsuit Over Its AI β€˜Expert Review’ Feature The feature, which Grammarly shut down Wednesday, presented editing suggestions as if they came from established authors and academicsβ€”without their consent.

I'm suing Grammarly over its paid AI feature that presented editing suggestions as if they came from me - and many other writers and journalists - without consent.

Insurrectionist Brunch: Trumpists plotted to deploy military on U.S. soil Before the 2024 election, a cadre of MAGA loyalists met over brunch to plot ways for Trump to use the military domestically.

This is just astonishingly great reporting.

All of the crises the White House has claimed over the last 14 months were planned in advance. All of them.

And however much contempt you have for media outlets who reverently relayed Trump's claim to have no relation to Project 2025, it isn't enough.
