I just posted the last chapter of my hualian fic "Perchance to Dream" in which Xie Lian makes up an imaginary San Lang to keep the loneliness at bay, and that works alright, until San Lang suddenly starts behaving very strangely...

I signed up for fandom trumps hate 2026!! I will be offering a fic for either scum villain or tgcf and would be happy to receive a few bids when bidding starts! I'm very excited to finally be able to take part!
I know my scum villain fics are wildly more popular than my tgcf ones, but I think tgcf is all I can offer!
What do you think? Is there any interest in that or nah?
I'm tempted to do fth this year🤔 I've always wanted to but never managed! The problem is, I'm not sure if I'm able to write something for scum villain at the moment (I've just not felt any enthusiasm for it recently, sorry) but I don't know if anyone would be interested in getting tgcf fic from me?

As he spoke, Hua Cheng's eyes widened even more until he looked scared. He started shaking his head before Xie Lian had even finished. "No, listen to me. You have done nothing wrong. It's me who has disappointed you."
"What?" Xie Lian stopped short and tried to make sense of the words.
"I don't know!" To Xie Lian's embarrassment, it came out as a wail. "You have been angry with me, have you not? If I did anything, please just tell me, San Lang. I promise I won't do it again!"
Xie Lian wavered for some time before gathering up all his courage. "San Lang, you would tell me if I had done something wrong, wouldn't you?"
To his surprise, Hua Cheng turned to look at him with wide eyes. "What do you mean? Dianxia, why would you think that you have done something wrong?"

“I could work as a servant,” Hua Cheng suddenly spoke up, and everyone paused and turned to him. His mother shifted nervously. “Hong-er, dear, you don’t have to–” “I don’t mind,” Hua Cheng said with a smile. “I learn fast and I’ll be very diligent, I promise.” “We don’t have much money these days,” his father said grumpily. “It’ll be hard work for little pay.” “That’s fine with me,” Hua Cheng said in the same cheery tone. Xie Lian started to suspect he was having fun riling up the king. “Still,” his father said, looking darkly at Hua Cheng, “we don’t know where you’ve been and where your loyalty lies these days, so it would be better for you to–” “Hong-er is going to work for me,” Xie Lian said pleasantly. “I trust him implicitly. Certainly more than any of the other servants I’ve ever had, who didn’t have to undergo a whole background check, if I might add.”
“If I might remind you that it’s still me making these decisions.” Xie Lian clicked his tongue. “I’m going to spend most of my free time with him anyway.” His father was starting to turn red from all the back talk, but Xie Lian’s mother put a hand on his arm and leaned close to look at him with a pleading look and whisper something into his ear. As his father listened, he slowly lost the angry flush and finally leaned back with a heavy sigh. “Oh well, alright. We can use all the servants we can get for Xie Lian’s wedding anyway.” From the other side of the table, a choking noise came and Hua Cheng set down his teacup, holding his hand in front of his mouth. “Excuse me, his what?”

Xie Lian stared up into the shadows pooling in the crooks and crannies of his bed’s ceiling and said, “I don't know if I–” Like, is what he meant to say, but that wasn't quite true. It was more accurate to say, “I think I fear who I'm becoming.” Next to him, Hua Cheng turned towards him, half his face hidden in the sheets, and looked at him with his dark brows furrowed attentively. “What do you mean?” “This… greediness,” Xie Lian said hesitantly. “The selfishness and the jealousy. I've never felt like this before, certainly never acted like it. I was taught that these aren't good qualities to have, that good people aren't greedy or selfish or jealous. And yet, you keep encouraging me again and again.” “I like it,” Hua Cheng said softly, his eyes dark and melty. “I love it when you take what you want, I love it when you wanti. And if the thing you want is me, how could I not encourage you?” Xie Lian covered his eyes with a hand and groaned. “You're not a thing, though, and I shouldn't treat you like it.” With a rustle, Hua Cheng suddenly sat up and swung his leg over Xie Lian to sit on his hips. He leaned forward and took the hand lying over Xie Lian’s eyes into his own. Finally, he lifted it to gently kiss the thumb.
“Why not,” he asked, “when being your plaything, your treasure, your possession makes me the happiest I've ever been? By all means, Your Highness, possess me selfishly, jealously. Rage at me if I talk to other people too nicely and I’ll fall to my knees and gladly beg for forgiveness. Shackle me and I’ll only tighten the chains. There's no need for respect between us.” He seemed to interpret the resulting silence and Xie Lian’s wide-eyed expression the wrong way, because he abruptly changed tracks. “But if Your Highness is afraid…” From one second to the other, something about him became predatory and he dragged a hand from Xie Lian’s belly to his chest to watch with greedy eyes how the soft flesh dipped under his fingertips. “I could be the one taking, for once. Who could blame Your Highness for submitting to my advances if I push you so boldly, barely leaving you a choice? If I cornered you in dark hallways to take my pleasure, if I forced you–” Lightning-quick, Xie Lian reached out and grabbed the hand on his chest. “No,” he said firmly. “I won’t have you take all the blame for something we both want. If you want to… to be the one taking, then we can do that. But only with my permission. I won’t allow you to turn yourself into a villain to relieve my guilty conscience.” With his next breath, all the predatory tension left Hua Cheng and he turned small and uncertain. It wasn’t hard to tip him over and spill him back onto the bed. “You don’t dislike what we’ve been doing, then?” he asked quietly. “No,” Xie Lian answered and grabbed his wrist, holding it tightly and securely. “No, that’s the reason I’m afraid, don’t you see? I like it way too much.”

Xie Lian swallowed. Of course he knew that this could very well be a trap. After a second, he followed anyway.
Icy awareness trickled through Xie Lian’s veins and he froze. As he watched, the butterfly lifted off the rough wall and lazily fluttered away, deeper into the cave.
It was a single silver ghost butterfly, sitting on the wall and slowly beating its wings.
He had just thought that when a light in the distance caught his attention. He warily lifted his sword higher and made his steps quieter. It was a longer walk than expected but, eventually, he could make out the source of the light.
