Grateful to be included in the Highly Cited Researchers list and proud that our work is valued by the community. Many thanks to all inspiring collaborators, mentors, and the great environment at D-USYS @usyseth.bsky.social , ETH Zürich @ethz.ch, and the LandClim group @soniaseneviratne.bsky.social
Liebe Sonia, herzlichen Glückwunsch für diese tolle Anerkennung deiner Arbeit!
Our 400+ page comment on the DOE climate working group report is now out.
Our conclusion: The merchants of doubt are back, and they're coming for climate science.
Hot off the press: We can provide for the first time a systematic attribution of recent #heatwaves to the emissions of #carbon_majors. Essential new #Nature article coordinated by @yannquilcaille.bsky.social at @ethz.ch, with numerous contributors @usyseth.bsky.social:

We published a R Meta-Package for Mutli-Model applications.
This was led by Michael Schirmer, now in @jansei.bsky.social group.

We looked at how climate change is already affecting run-of-river hydropower in Switzerland—and what that means for electricity system planning.

New study on linking wealth-based emissions to climate impacts: We find that 2/3 of global warming is attributable to the wealthiest 10% and so are climate extremes.

🚨 Research by VUB and ETH Zurich shows millions of children will suffer most from heatwaves, crop failures, floods, fires and storms due to climate change. We must act now to protect their future!

@wimthiery.bsky.social presenting our new paper "Global emergence of unprecedented lifetime
exposure to climate extremes" at #EGU25. Stay tuned for the paper led by Luke Grant, @innevanderkelen.bsky.social, @soniaseneviratne.bsky.social, @lukasgudmundsson.bsky.social published on 8 May.
Thank you so much @stressdriven.bsky.social and especially many thanks to @bask0.bsky.social for the fantastic lead of the paper

This accelerated drying is driven by decreasing runoff rates in spring, summer and autumn in response to warmer conditions. Winter runoff rates are increasing in the #alps likely due to changing snow dynamics.
This Analysis provides a unique perspective into changing #waterressources in Switzerland with an increasing number of dry years throughout the past two decades.
Excited about our #AI based runoff reconstruction for #switzerland ranging back to 1962. Lead by @bask0.bsky.social, co-authored by @hydrologywsl.bsky.social , @soniaseneviratne.bsky.social , William Aeberhard, Michael Schirmer. hess.copernicus.org/articles/29/...
We have a new paper out on the @eurogeosciences.bsky.social Journal "HESS"
