I did translation hacks, fixes, and re-releases for the N64. Games: OoT/MQ, Majoras Mask, Shiren 2, Getter Love, Doshin, SimCity 64, 40 Winks, Glover, SSSV, etc. Now I do scanning, type-ins, and game preservation with Gaming Alexandria

it's "funny" that this article is going to be used by the most annoying people in the world as proof that human translators go too far and should all be replaced by AI when the complaint is specifically about word-for-word translations that don't go far enough

Box art for a Super Nintendo game called Ice Hockey, depicting 3 players, a large player on the left, a medium sized one in the middle, and a taller skinnier one on the right, all dressed in white and blue uniforms. The game is rated Kicks-Ass, has the Super NES Rumble Pad support icon, and the Rumbleminze logo of a beagle on the box.

A special extra port that I did over the last week or so. Ice Hockey! In honor of the double gold medal winning USA Men's and Women's hockey teams at the Olympics!

No big features here other than a bit of rumble support if you've got the LRG controller.

Awesome news! @ozidual.bsky.social edited the full run of the 1987 Famimaga (Nintendo's Family Computer Magazine) magazines that I scanned a while back which means they're so much easier to flip through and read now! Check them out: archive.org/details/@ozi...

A really neat shot of the Digitizer Mark III and its screens, and a very busy desk with floppies and the digitizer pad and handheld device you slide around it.

A glimpse of Sega Japan sometime in 1991 during the development of Golden Axe too, snapped from a Megaforce magazine feature. Not only do we get a lovely photo of Sega HQ in Tokyo, but some very cool shots of how game art was created and then digitised onto the screen.

Australian magazine Hyper has a short interview with Eiji Aonuma, Shigeru Miyamoto, and Koji Kondo in the August 2005 issue, #142.
Miyamoto said in a 1997 interview that his favorite item in 3D Zeldas was the boomerang, and here he says it is his favorite overall.

An early build of the arcade Mario Bros. recently surfaced and man you can tell from playing this was before the game was refined to how we expect it to control. You are forced to tap the direction to move and stopping will result in Mario or Luigi to continue moving until you tap the other way.

In 2024 I scanned this Kabuki keshi figure from Ninja-Kun on Famicom.

The figure had some minor damage: a missing bomb wick! I promised I would rescan the figure if I got an undamaged one in the future.

Today I make good on that promise.

A keitai game that's a port of... a Casio LCD calculator game?! Preserved last year by Yuvi, "Boxing Game" was developed by G-MODE and originally released for i-mode devices in 2001. Our preserved version, which has better graphics, dates to 2004.

Okay, side note, I can't stop laughing at all the weird Ai mistakes in that art! HIS EAR(S)

but also, yeah, seriously, that's so sad. At some point it's going to take people holding the book and proving it's real. I get worried if it's going to start affecting auction listings for old publications
