Instead, landlords will squeeze brokers down, and tenants may see somewhat higher rents but end up netting out better
Here's the part I struggle with: If the fee burden is placed on NYC landlords (who have leverage w/ brokers) rather than on tenants (who have no leverage), what would likely happen is that the fee just goes down, no?
How is a random entity in Garland or Cameron County able to absolve multifamily landlords in Austin or Houston of property taxes? The Promote goes inside an obscure loophole that's become a lifeline for Texas syndicators, and a cash cow for its enablers ๐
